The Donkey Express was on the road again. This time to Taft TN that was only 10 minutes away. Meike was looking for a companion for her 4 year old gelding donkey. We had Scottie, who is about 5 years old and a gelding. Scottie was picked up locally as a stray. He was a bit a bit of a wild thing but he seemed to trust Meike. So after a few visits, Scottie seemed to engage more and more in his interactions with Meike. He met his new friend, Jack, and they just seemed to be one big happy family! Makes us smile!!

Today was a busy day at Crossroads. Dr. Elise Jones and Braxton, our farrier, working together to help our rescue donkeys. Trooper, Charlie and Suzy needing sedation for hoof trimming. Daisy needing her teeth floated. And thank you Joanie for all your help today!! Go team!! 😁♥️

Crossroads had another day filled with joy today. Norman was a rescue donkey previously adopted by a very loving woman, who unfortunately developed some very serious health issues. Norman then came back to Crossroads until his adopter could assess her health issues. While Norman was at the rescue, he was fostered by a very loving family in Alabama. Today, Norman former adopter was able to visit him and meet the family that has been caring for him. We experienced a day filled with love and connection for everyone that is difficult to put into words. And this day was all possible because of a special donkey named Norman. We captured a few photos from the day. Enjoy and smile! 🥰

So this afternoon, we had more visitors coming to Crossroads to meet Betsy and Judy. Both these donkeys are so very sweet and loving. Betsy recently had a medical issue with her teeth and has been showing so much improvement after she was taken to the vet and had her teeth floated. Well today, after the visit, Betsy and Judy will now be going to their new home with a very loving family!! Brings us so much joy! ♥️♥️♥️

Our morning at Crossroads started out great! Mika, who previously came to visit our farm to adopt a donkey to be a companion to her 4 year old gelding donkey. She fell in love with Scottie. Scottie was picked up as an intact stray jack last September. He is now a gelding but still has a bit of a wild side. With me, he developed trust enough to come up and give treats and be petted. I know that the donkeys in our rescue pick their people as much as the people pick their donkeys. After a couple of visits with Scottie, Mika amazingly earned Scottie's trust. So this morning, it's official that Scottie will be going to a new home! You can see the connection with both Scottie and Mika. Brings us so much joy and makes us smile! ♥️♥️♥️

We have an update on Betsy's condition. After Betsy had her teeth floated on Friday, she has been showing improvement. She has been eating more of her feed every day and she does get a short amount of time grazing on some grass. Thank you all for your prayers. Please keep them coming as she continues to improve.

So tonight our dedicated volunteer, Joanie, came to Crossroads to give Miss Pearl her regular treatments for her hooves. At times in last few months, Pearl has been a bit lethargic, due to pain and other issues. Well tonight Pearl was full of s***k and decided she would climb up on the hay bale instead of eating it! From a donkey that could barely stand, tranformed to a donkey mounting an obstacle, standing up high and proud! Made us laugh and makes us smile!! 🤣

The Donkey Express took an unexpected trip to TennSouth Veterinary Clinic today. Betsy, one of latest intakes, showed little interest in her food and we thought we had better take her into the vet clinic for examination ASAP. Thanks to TennSouth for squeezing her into the schedule today. After Betsy's exam and bloodwork taken, , it was determined that her teeth could be causing her discomfort where she didnt want to eat. Betsy had her teeth floated, along with some medication to give her some relief. Please send prayers and some positive energy for this sweet old girl.

Miss Judy is looking for her new home with her mother, Betsy. Judy is very loud and more active jenny, but she needs to be placed with her mom, who requires a dry lot. It can be a challenge to try to feed Betsy more feed than Judy. But Judy is very content with giving her love and scratches while her momma finishes her feed. Betsy and Judy are very easy, loving pair of donkeys. For more information on possibly bringing them into you lives, please message us for more information

We had a family visit today to meet and greet with all the rescue donkeys at Crossroads. It was a birthday celebration! They came with bags of apple treats and a good time was had by all! Makes us smile!! 🥰
