Watching Jeff Corwin at the Weinberg last night felt like stepping back into childhood. Growing up he made the wild feel accessible. Him, along with a few others, made caring about animals and nature feel cool. Somehow decades later, sitting in this theater, I was still inspired, learning and laughing at his stories.

But the moment that really got me was how he closed the show. He talked about the importance of children in nature. How conservation doesn't start with policies, it starts with connection. With curiosity. With letting children fall in love with the natural world before we ask them to protect it. This felt a little like a full circle moment.

I am so deeply proud to serve at the Board President of Wild Sprouts — a place where children explore creeks, hold insects, climb logs, and build real relationships with nature. Last night felt like a quiet affirmation. A reminder that this work truly matters. That the time spent in the mud and the magic isn’t small — it’s foundational. And that the seeds we plant now, in small hands and big hearts, will grow into something far bigger than we can even imagine. And honestly, that's pretty powerful. 🌱💛

I opened my mail last week and had one of those quiet, full-circle moments of seeing an illustration I created staring back at me. There's something really special about seeing art making its way from a sketch to the mailbox. I'm feeling very grateful to have illustrated this holiday card for the Weinberg Center for the Arts this year! 🤗

🐾This Thursday, August 14th — leash up your imagination and join me (Ashley DeCapua) in the enchanted garden for a FREE special storytime! I’ll be reading my book about my two dogs who can’t resist an adventure (and the occasional mischief).

From 10:30–11:30, little learners can enjoy the tale, create a fun craft, and sniff out all the beauty and hidden details in our Heritage Garden.

This one’s been in the fast lane of our hearts for a while — and we’re so excited to finally share the branding for Slick Kids!

Slick Kids is an apparel brand built for the junior drag racing community — but it’s more than just stylish gear—it’s a place where young racers feel seen, supported, and inspired.

We designed a bold, full-throttle visual identity that blends racing culture with everyday style — all with one goal in mind: to spark excitement, confidence, and connection, both on and off the track. And the best part? Slick Kids reinvests directly into the community through a youth sponsorship program that goes beyond the usual swag. It’s all about uplifting the next generation of racers and backing the kids who are chasing big dreams at full speed.

As the 2024–25 season at Weinberg/New Spire Arts is coming to a close, I’m feeling so grateful to have been part of the journey. From posters and programs to all the little design details—bringing their season to life through graphic design has been such a rewarding adventure. I can’t wait to do it all again for 2025–26! 💛

🌿 Brand Reveal!🦎

Bringing color, charm, and a touch of weird - we are so excited to share the branding we crafted for our friends at Twisted Lily Farm! A wildly whimsical and deeply intentional brand that blends sustainability, creativity, and local charm with a delightfully quirky twist (yes, reptiles included!)🦎

Their soft launch is happening June 28th at Field Fresh Farmers Market in Frederick, MD! You’ll find at least 4 types of sweet treats, a limited batch of birdhouse gourds, and (fingers crossed) firestarters and candles—all in true Twisted Lily fashion: handmade, eco-minded, and a little unexpected. Their mission? A full-circle ecosystem rooted in sustainability, creativity, and community—growing crops for bees, using the honey and wax in their products, composting to feed the soil, and keeping it all local.

Keep your eyes on this one—Twisted Lily is going to make waves (and honey).
