Days before this transformer caught fire, Ting detected dangerous electrical surges inside the customer’s home and alerted them to contact their utility.

The family took action, and the utility was already responding when the fire broke out outside their home. Fortunately Ting detected the surges early, helping keep this family and community safe. The homeowner shared with us afterward:

“We never would have known about the dangerous surges and if there had been a fire in my house as a result, well, we live in a house from the 1860’s and all wood. You are the best! Thank you Ting!!”

A Buggy Bug Zapper 🦟⚡ When Eddie received a fire hazard alert from Ting while he was at work, our Fire Safety Team connected with him to investigate. Once he was home, they worked together to narrow down where the arcing was coming from - a faulty bug zapper. Eddie disposed of it and the arcing stopped, helping resolve the electrical fire hazard before it could become something more serious. He shared with us:

Have you ever seen a wasp nest cause an electrical fire hazard? 🐝

After Ting detected arcing signals in a Missouri home, troubleshooting led to the garage. A massive mud dauber wasp nest was wrapped around the garage door opener, where extra weight on the lightbulb was causing dangerous arcing. The homeowner replaced the bulb, the nest was removed, and the signals resolved.
