Free senior citizen computer classes are back this fall in Brookings and Port Orford — and space is limited, so don't wait!

Network Service Disruption – 8:30 AM Update:

Our network engineering team has completed thorough testing and confirmed that service has been fully restored. Thank you for your patience as we worked through this issue with our upstream provider. While internet service was not completely down, many customers experienced speeds below Beacon Broadband’s reliability standards. As your local provider, we will review this event and use what we learn to help prevent similar issues in the future.

NETWORK UPDATE
Tentative service restoration. Engineers from our upstream provider arrived on-site at approximately 11:30 PM and repaired the node servicing the coast. We have received confirmation that all traffic is now passing beyond the faulty equipment. We will continue to monitor for the next few hours. Immediate testing is showing everything operating at full functionality.

We will give the all-clear once final testing is complete, or an alert if additional issues arise.

BEACON BROADBAND NETWORK UPDATE
We’re sorry for the inconvenience. Beacon Broadband is currently experiencing a network issue with our primary upstream provider, and we have open tickets with our carrier.
All traffic is congested (think eight lanes of rush-hour traffic diverted to a single off-ramp), resulting in very slow speeds. Our upstream provider is on the way to fix a faulty piece of equipment, but there’s no estimated restoration time yet.
