New design challenge: a premium fashion storefront, built from scratch.

A premium clothing and lifestyle brand is rebuilding its online store. We need designers to design the whole shopping journey - home, product listing, product pages, cart, checkout, order confirmation.

The brief is classic and understated. Monochrome. Square corners. One sharp accent colour, one clean typeface. Simple rules, but lots of room to make it yours.

It’s a FAST 48 hours challenge with a rolling checkpoint, so the clock’s ticking

Meet Völgyi Viktória - eight years, and still raising the bar.

She has designed for NASA, HP, and Stanley Black & Decker. Her latest Topcoder project has no name on it - but you’ll use it every time you open a challenge.

It’s our new Design System: the shared foundation of components, standards, and documentation the whole platform is starting to build on. Viki designed it, then got to see it tested live as copilot of the Opportunities redesign challenge.

Eight years in, she’s done nearly every role the community offers - competitor, copilot, Design Review Board member, mentor, MVP. What’s kept her here is the range: one month a drone control station, the next an enterprise app.

A few things she believes about good design:
→ A beautiful design that solves the wrong problem rarely wins
→ A design system isn’t a library of components - it’s a set of decisions already made, so teams don’t solve the same problems twice
→ AI can generate ten solutions, but someone still has to decide which one actually works

Marathon Match 167 is complete

The problem: an N×N grid, a hand of letter tiles, and a peek at what’s coming next - place words from the dictionary, route them through the bonus cells, and decide when a tile is worth keeping and when to cut it.

A telecom has started building an AI-powered customer-support system on Google Cloud and Gemini - multi-agent, handling real scenarios like authenticating a subscriber, running diagnostics, or resolving a billing dispute. But it’s a proof of concept, and it’s nowhere near production-ready.

You step in as the Forward Deployed Engineer and finish it properly: secure customer authentication, integration with modern and legacy backend systems, safe failure handling and escalation, and full observability. Real engineering on a real-shaped problem, not a chatbot demo.

We’re hiring a Databricks Engineer.

This one’s hands-on from day one: building and optimizing Databricks pipelines that turn raw data into clean, business-ready layers - and owning them all the way through to production.

You’d be working in PySpark, SQL, and Delta Lake, running deployments through Azure DevOps, tuning jobs for performance and cost, and keeping data quality and governance tight with Unity Catalog.

We’re looking for someone with real hands-on Databricks experience, strong Python and SQL, and a solid grip on Delta Lake and ETL/ELT patterns.

Open to engineers in Brazil or Mexico, or UK/US-based professionals who can work US hours.

Marathon Match 167 is live.

Here's the board: an N×N grid, a hand of letter tiles, and a peek at the next few tiles before they're drawn. Each turn you either place a word from the dictionary - across or down, building off a letter already on the board - or discard tiles and take a penalty. Place a letter that forms extra words, and those have to be real words too.

The goal is to score as high as you can by routing words through the bonus cells, while deciding when a tile is worth keeping and when it's dead weight. Simple rules, and a search space that rewards planning ahead.

Submissions close October 14 at 2:00 AM EST.

This match earns leaderboard points toward the 2026 Tournament, which runs through March 2027 - top 12 at season end advance to the Championship Round.

At Topcoder, turning a scoped solution into a delivery plan is still mostly manual work.

Most AI planning tools just spit out a task list. This challenge asks for more: build an app that decides how every piece of work should actually get built - a specialist, an open challenge, or a dedicated team - and explains why.

It's a real systems problem - AI that reasons and shows its work, mapped into a clear, connected graph.
