2026 in wrapped with the team working through conditions most exhibitors would have used as an excuse: heavy rain, train delays, and standing water across the city. None of it showed up at the booth.

Over the course of the show, the Mumbai team welcomed more than 100 new leads and ran over 200 walkthroughs, alongside the first public display of harness design shown together with its practical application on the floor.

The booth also gave visitors a full view of how ETAP works as one connected platform, covering design, build, operate, and automate in a single environment rather than four separate tools.

None of this happens without a team willing to show up regardless of the weather report.

Toulouse just marked 40 years of ETAP electrical engineering software, the latest stop on a global celebration that has taken us through Irvine, Chennai, Mumbai, Lima, and Paris this year.

Earlier this month, ETAP employees and leadership gathered in Toulouse to mark the milestone, including CEO of ETAP Tanuj Khandelwal, Senior Vice President and Ex CEO of IGE-XAO - Alain Di Crescenzo, and Technical Director and Founder of IGE-XAO - Charles Baudron and Executive Vice President of the Software and services business at Schneidet Electric - Pankaj Sharma.

Different industries, different missions, one shared need: understanding how electricity moves through a system before it fails.

That range does not happen by accident. It comes from four decades of engineers in Toulouse and around the world building tools that hold up under real operating conditions, not just demo conditions.

🙏 Thank you to the Toulouse team, past and present, and to everyone across ETAP who has contributed to 40 years of work that mostly happens out of sight but rarely out of reach of the systems people depend on every day.

Resonance induced overvoltages, neutral grounding reactors, transient simulations, and AI powered engineering copilots: ETAP research covers a wide range of power system topics at IEEE PES General Meeting 2026 in Montreal this week.

On July 20, Oveis Asgari presented a paper on resonance induced overvoltages on parallel transmission lines.

The paper, titled "Resonance-Induced Overvoltages on Parallel Transmission Lines: Causes, Events, and Mitigation Strategies," draws on real utility event records, protection behavior analysis, and transient simulations to examine how resonance conditions on parallel lines drive up voltages beyond expected limits, including mitigation through neutral grounding reactors.

Also on July 20, ETAP presented on building datasets for pretrained large language models in power and energy systems, part of a two session showcase of ETAP Electrical Copilot. Powered by pretrained and integrated with power system simulation, engineering standards, and technical documentation, the Copilot enables natural language interaction with engineering software to support engineers in decision making and daily workflows.
