PC repair! 🪛

Client reached out to us after having issue with their PC crashing when trying to load games and then just stopped booting altogether. They said they stuck the PC in the closet for months and just forgot about it. But now they are wanting to get it fixed!

When we first put the PC on the work bench we immediately noticed the sevear GPU sag. This puts a strain on the motherboard PCIe socket and on the Graphics Card. We attempted to boot the PC up and it failed to post. Confirming the clients last experience with the PC.

We took the graphics card out and tried a known working graphics card in its place and the PC booted right up. We then tried the clients GPU in 2 other PCs and confirmed that their graphics card has died. Likely from the extra stress from sagging. We advised the client that they needed a new graphics card and they had us order them one. We also ordered a GPU support brace to prevent the new GPU from sagging like the previous one.

While we waited for the new GPU to arrive, we updated everything in the clients PC. Windows 11 from Windows 10, drivers, software, motherboard BIOS (which was from 2020), and then optimized the settings for better performance.

With the new GPU installed and everything all up-to-date, the client picked up their PC and is ready to get back to gaming!

PC Upgrade!

Had a client reach to me because their PC was giving them blue screens related to memory (RAM). After some diagnostics we determined the issue was due to a mixed RAM kit being used.

Even though the RAM is the same capacity and brand, mix RAM from different kits can cause compatibility issues. Sometimes these issues are immediate, sometimes they get worse as time goes on.

We advised the client and they decided for a platform upgrade. New Motherboard, CPU, & RAM. They also wanted a new case.

BURCPC was more than happy to assist them in this upgrade. Absolutely love how it came together in the end!

Had a PC come in for diagnostic. The client tried to build the PC themselves and bought the wrong CPU for this motherboard. However, when I tried a known working CPU for this motherboard it still failed to boot.

We tested the RAM in our test PC and that worked without issue. Same for the Graphics Card and Power Supply. No issues.

So we decided to take the motherboard out of the case to rule out a short circuit from a misplaced standoff. That’s when we discovered the issue. The motherboard was damaged on the backside by the CPU mounting holes.

Motherboards are manufactured in layers, like a lasagna. In between those layers there are traces (or circuits) that send information to the different parts of the motherboard. If even one of those traces is damaged, it can ruin the entire motherboard. Unfortunately that’s what was happening here.

We advised the client they needed a new motherboard (and CPU as the one they had gotten wasn’t for this motherboard and was quite old).

Sometimes we have to deliver bad news to our clients, but we always offer to help them with a solution!

PC diagnostic & repair

Had a new client who was referred by a previous client reach out looking for some help with their PC as it was no longer booting into Windows.

After checking everything over, we determined the issue was a dead storage drive that they had Windows installed on. We replaced the dead drive with a new one, installed a fresh copy of Windows with all current drivers & updates. There were a couple other minor issues like the Power Supply being upside down, and missing a few screws. We took care of that as well.

We had the time so we did some cable management and did a quick cleaning also. Client picked up their fixed PC and is ready to start gaming again!

GPU upgrade!

A previous client returned for a GPU upgrade. They sold their old GPU and some other extra hardware they had and were able to upgrade their GPU essentially for free!

This is a great way to upgrade your performance without taking a major hit to your wallet.

PC upgrade & refresh!

Had a client contact us who was looking to upgrade their PC and change things up a bit. BURC PC Solutions LLC is happy to help!

They went with a Motherboard & CPU upgrade, among other upgrades as well. They went with a back connector MSI Z790 Project Zero Motherboard which moves all of the connectors to the rear side of the Motherboard, cleaning things up tremendously.

We also did a Case swap from the Hyte y70 touch to the MSI PANO 100r PZ, and CPU cooler swap to a premium Noctua Air Cooler. Which is keeping the i9-14900KS below 70°c under 100% load and 35°c-40°c while idle.

Lastly we replaced the 1TB SATA boot & storage drive with a 500GB NVME boot drive and 2TB NVME storage drive. From now on if something goes wrong and Windows needs to be reinstalled, the client doesn’t have to worry about losing all their other data as it’s stored on a separate drive. Also, the NVME drives are much faster than the old SATA drive. Making this upgrade doubly useful!

PC Service!

Had a client reach out to me looking to get their PC serviced. When they drop the PC off, it wouldn’t boot into Windows. We quickly identified the issue as incompatible RAM and removed the RAM sticks in question. We advised the client about purchasing a replacement kit.

Once we had the PC running again, we did a whole bunch of software updates. Updated the BIOS on the motherboard that was from 2020 to 2026. Updated Windows to Windows 11, as well as all of the drivers.

Then we gave the PC a good cleaning and managed the cables much better. Unfortunately the case has some staining we were unable to remove. As well as some really caked on gunk on the feet that would have required a more deep cleaning than what the client wanted as they are considering upgrading the case in the near future.
