Ever picked a w**e because you loved the label? People confess this to me all the time—as though they’ve done something embarrassing.

My response? You understood.

You picked up on the color, the lettering, the imagery. Something suggested that this w**e belonged at your table, at your celebration or in the hands of someone you wanted to treat.

Meet Thom. Leave your chair at your own risk.

Thom belongs to my friends, John and Brandi Dayton. He’s an enormous cat with a personality to match. Get up for 15 seconds and he’s taken your seat—and struck a ridiculous pose.

Naturally, I had to paint him.

I’ve been sharing my pink peony paintings to raise funds for families facing the financial hardships that often accompany cancer treatment. Today, two people asked whether they could support the effort with Thom cards and prints instead.

Ice Harbor Brewing has a full line up of beers and ales, each with their own color combination and custom illustration.
