Interesting to see SevenFifty Daily exploring how wineries are using brand transformation to navigate a shifting market.

It was a privilege to work with Badger Mountain on a packaging and identity refresh centered on stronger shelf differentiation, a clearer connection to place, and a more contemporary expression of the winery’s organic roots while preserving the cobalt blue they’re so well known for.

Especially encouraging to see thoughtful brand investment discussed not just in terms of aesthetics, but in connection with projected growth and expanded distribution opportunities.

Producers are rethinking identity, design, and strategy to drive growth amid economic challenges and consumer shifts…

Fun fact: W.B. Bridgman is my great-great uncle. He was Washington’s first wine grape grower and the original owner of Upland Vineyard.

Last night, Kevin, Sally Carpenter (my daughter), and I enjoyed an incredible winemakers dinner at Provisions in Yakima, crafted by my second cousin, Chef Lindsay Park (also a descendant of Bridgman).

The current owners of Upland Vineyard, Todd and Amber Newhouse, shared wines they made in the early 2000s — some quite old, including a Gewürztraminer—yet still remarkably delicious.

It was such a joy to share the evening with my cousin Kit and Ozzie Park (Lindsay’s parents). Kit and I are both decendents of Bridgman, making this celebration of food, wine and our family legacy all the nore more special!
