Color does a lot of work in a brand. Trailbound's palette is pulled from the trail itself: Sunset for the signal (logos, headlines, calls to action), Moss Green and Sand for the ground everything sits on, and Dusk Blue and Olive Green in support. Once it's set in the brand guide, every sign, shirt and screen pulls from the same five colors.

Trailbound: brand identity for an outdoor exploration app and gear brand.

The mark combines three things every explorer relies on: a GPS pin, a mountain range and a compass needle. The wordmark is a modified Rushford Printed, with the R and I in TRAIL joined into a single winding path.

The colors come straight off the trail (Sunset orange, Moss Green and Sand), and the system carries from the app and website to hang tags, hats and even a tent.

Your service list is your menu. Here's how I'd clean one up.

Quick note: this is from my remake of the Wilton Tire and Auto guide, an unpaid portfolio piece, not a paid job.

For a lot of shops, the services page is the first thing a customer reads. When it's one long list, people skim right past what they came for.

The fix
I split 23 services into four groups:
• Engine
• Drivetrain & Axles
• General & Chassis
• Specialty

Same information, but now a customer can find brakes or EV service in a couple of seconds.
If your menu or service list feels crowded, post it in the comments and I'll tell you the first thing I'd change.

The truck gets people in line. The packaging is what goes home with them. For Smokn' Aces, every bag and box carries the brand into customers' kitchens, a little ad on every table.

Your vehicle is advertising every mile you drive. 3 things that make a wrap readable from across a parking lot:

1. One message. Your name and what you do. Save the full service list for your website.

2. Big, simple type. Script fonts look great up close and turn into scribbles at 50 feet.

3. Contrast. Light on dark or dark on light. If it's hard to read in a photo, it's hard to read on the road.
