Honoring Leadership in Service

This President’s Day, we reflect on the values of leadership, integrity, and dedication to the community: qualities that have guided our nation’s presidents and are at the heart of public safety.

In the public safety sector, strong leadership means making decisions that protect lives, uphold the law, and maintain trust. Whether in corrections, investigations, records management, or agency-wide operations, it’s about leading with purpose and serving with commitment.

To all the leaders in public safety, from command staff to frontline officers: thank you for exemplifying the principles that keep our communities safe.

🔒 Data Privacy Week 2026: Staying Ahead in Public Safety

This week, we join the global conversation on data privacy to reaffirm our commitment to protecting the sensitive data that powers public safety.

In 2026, public safety agencies face new challenges, from stricter state and AI-related privacy laws to increasing cyber incidents and the demand for real-time, secure information sharing. Staying ahead means building privacy into every process, adopting resilient cybersecurity practices, and unifying systems to close gaps.

Public safety agencies rely on interconnected, secure systems. CORE’s mission is to help agencies share the right data with the right people at the right time while safeguarding sensitive information and staying ahead of new privacy and cybersecurity requirements.

To all the agencies we serve: thank you for your trust. Together, we’ll navigate emerging privacy requirements, stay prepared for evolving threats, and keep public safety data secure in 2026 and beyond.

⏰ Don’t forget to set your clocks back this Sunday! 🍂

As we “fall back” and return to standard time, the darker evenings bring shorter days and new challenges for drivers and public safety professionals.

Research published in Current Biology found that deer-vehicle collisions increase by 16% in the week following the autumn clock change, and that collisions are 14 times more likely shortly after dark than before. Nighttime traffic and animal-related incidents also rise during standard time, especially in rural areas.

It’s a timely reminder to slow down, stay alert, and plan for changing light conditions. Stay safe and don’t forget to set those clocks back one hour this Sunday!
