A familiar file-sharing logo is not a reason to enter your password.

Imagine a document invitation arriving from someone you recognize, but you were not expecting a file. Before you open it, confirm the request through a phone number or conversation you already trust. If you need the document, open your usual app or bookmarked site instead of following the message’s sign-in link.

Cloud Sync, Backup, and Recovery: What Your Business Should Check

A file being available in the cloud does not answer every recovery question. Your options depend on the service, retention settings, account access, and backup coverage. A useful review focuses on what your team would need if information disappeared or changed unexpectedly.

Start with the work that matters
List the files, mailboxes, applications, and devices essential to daily work. Identify where that information lives and who owns it. Include team files and data held in individual accounts.

Understand synchronization

The question with an older business computer isn't just whether it turns on.

Microsoft ended standard Windows 10 support in October 2025. Businesses that still need Windows 10 may have Extended Security Update options, but ESU is intended to help with the transition — not avoid it forever.
