A global study of 31,000+ executives and employees found zero overlap between the traits that win promotions and the traits employees actually want.

The #1 quality U.S. employees said they want from their leaders? 👉Emotional control.

Not charisma. Not a bold initiative. Steadiness.

Most operating systems don't develop that. We wrote about what does—and what leadership teams can start doing about it now.

Every elite fighter has someone in their corner. Between rounds, they sit down, listen, and adjust before getting back in.

Most CEOs trying to scale from $5M to $20M go round after round with no one in theirs.

The gap isn't toughness. It's perspective. From inside the ring, you see the punch in front of you; from outside it, your coach sees the pattern.

That's what a Bloom Growth Coach is. Not someone who throws the punches, but someone who:

→ Spots the openings you're missing
→ Calls out the habits costing you rounds
→ Keeps you on strategy when adrenaline takes over

Companies working with a Bloom Growth Coach see 4x average growth. Not from training harder, but from training smarter, with someone in their corner who's already won this fight.

What do you do when what's always worked... stops working?

The system that drove growth for years isn't generating results anymore. It's not your team. It's not the effort. The system just isn't serving you.

✨ The system you're using was designed for the business you were, not the business you're becoming.✨

At $5M, flexibility works. At $15M, that same flexibility becomes friction. And most leaders wait too long to make the shift. They watch results slip for two quarters before admitting something fundamental needs to change.

The companies that scale successfully? They redesign how strategy connects to weekly ex*****on before the breakdown starts hurting growth.

Which is worse? The Sunday scaries or the leadership team telling you there's a new system to implement?

Your team groans because they've seen this before. Initiatives launched with fanfare, abandoned six months later.

The hard truth is that they've learned to wait it out.

👉 The difference between resistance and buy-in? Knowing the outcomes you're bringing the team—and doing the work before you announce anything.

So if you've rolled out a new system (or any major change) without torpedoing morale, answer this for us: What's one thing you did before the announcement that made the difference?

Not the kickoff meeting. Not the training. The prep work that happened before anyone knew it was coming.

Share your real experience in the comments. Let's learn from what actually worked.

We shared practical ways to do this in our latest post. Link in the first comment.

Change our mind: Revenue growth without context is a vanity metric with a bow on it. 🎁

Hey reader—if you've scaled successfully, answer this for us: What's one metric you started tracking after revenue that actually told you if growth was healthy?

Share it in the comments. We'll synthesize what we're hearing and add what we're seeing across the teams we coach.

Growing revenue and a struggling business aren't mutually exclusive.

A lot of leadership teams hit $8M, $10M, $15M and find themselves more exhausted, not less.

→ Decisions slow down.
→ Accountability gets fuzzy.
→ Meetings multiply, but nothing actually gets resolved.

🚫 That's not a people problem. It's a structure problem.

We broke down five root causes that keep growing companies stuck—and why fixing them one at a time never works. The answer isn't another initiative. It's a system that ties everything together.

Your leadership team meeting costs $600–$800 an hour. That's defensible!

What isn't defensible is everything that happens after the meeting ends without a decision—the drift, the hallway interpretations, the problems that land back on your desk.

Bloom Growth Coach David Aferiat breaks down what that actually looks like and includes an honest diagnostic to assess where your business stands today.

This is part two of a two-part series. Both links in the comments.

If your meeting structure hasn't changed since 2019, it's costing you talent.

Pre-pandemic meeting rhythms were built for in-office collaboration. Everyone in the room. Whiteboards. Side conversations after the meeting.

That model assumed proximity. Assumed spontaneous alignment.

2026 teams are distributed, async-first, and operating at different speeds. The old meeting cadence doesn't serve them—it drains them.

Great teams redesigned their meeting structure:

• Clearer agendas (not "discuss everything")
• Defined decision-makers (not consensus theater)
• Async updates (not status meetings)
• Visible priorities (not "you should know this")

The talent you're losing isn't leaving because of the work. They're leaving because the structure around the work feels like 2019.

When's the last time you redesigned how your team meets?
