Tailoring the perfect pairing for each client is quite a fun challenge. Fonts are hands down one of the most impactful elements of a brand because they so quickly set the tone/vibe to the viewer.

Getting your content organized before a website project starts isn’t just about making things easier for your designer, it’s about making things easier for you.

When you sit down and actually write out how you’d describe your services, you end up learning things about your own business you hadn’t fully put into words before. The same goes for sorting through photos: you start noticing what you’re actually proud of, versus what you’ve just been defaulting to using because it’s what you had.

There’s also a version of this that’s just about momentum. Projects that start with scattered, last-minute content tend to feel scattered the whole way through (like content emailed in pieces, decisions made under pressure, a launch date that keeps slipping because something’s always still “coming soon.) Starting organized tends to mean staying organized.

This is why I encourage clients to have about 80% of their business figured out before starting a project with me. I can help guide the rest (like giving your business it’s signature look, setting your website systems up for success, etc.) to get you to the finish line.
Save this for whenever you’re getting ready, future you will be glad past you did the prep.

A little color inspiration to cap off the week 🍂

Palettes like these are always a fun reminder of how much a mood can shift with just a few shade choices — warm vs. cool, muted vs. bold, all telling a completely different story before a single design element gets added.

Behold - the oh so fun moodboarding stage of the branding process.

The moodboard stage is essential in the branding process because it gets us on the same page almost right after we start working together. I get a clear sense of direction before I start drafting your concepts, and you get to see your own vision reflected back before it’s real, which somehow makes it feel more real. It turns whats in your mind into something we can actually look at and react to, and it makes the rest of the project so much smoother for both of us.
This particular moodboard is for an apothecary who’s hearts desire is to embrace alllll the cottage core vibes. Couldn’t be more delighted with the direction it’s going. 💛
