While I typically reserve our business profile for posts about Mozaic, I am making an exception to announce - A huge milestone on a mission close to our hearts!
Stephanie Beveridge Johnson has worked tirelessly to launch a brand-new campus program built to empower high-functioning neurodiverse teens and young adults as they transition to independent living.
Having raised our 20-year-old autistic son, we’ve experienced the gaps in local resources firsthand. This program provides the structured path to independence our young adults need and the peace of mind these families deserve.
More details coming very soon!
It’s ready! After several months (jeez a year!) of planning, we are ready to announce the launch of Ostera Life Skills Academy and Campus Living for neurodiverse young adults. This nonprofit organization is designed to support high functioning neurodiverse young adults as they progress from high school graduation to independent living by teaching life skills in real world situations and offering campus style living to foster the experience of taking the next steps of leaving home. Designed to give neurodiverse young adults a supportive and supervised environment among their peers, Ostera aims to prepare these young adults to successfully launch into adulthood.
We will be collaborating with local resources to support these young adults through the process of securing employment to enter the workforce and/or navigating college as their next step, learning to drive, budget, grocery shop and cook while balancing work/school life. Our vision is onsite counselors and mental health specialists who are trained in guiding the neurodiverse population and their families in reaching their goals of independently living and working.
We are just getting started so stay tuned for updates as we move forward with this exciting endeavor! 🎉🎉
