What does connection look like to you? For us, it can look like a table full of snacks we grew up eating. 🍘

For API Heritage Month, Meta hosted a "Snacks from Your Childhood" tasting — a space where culture wasn't just acknowledged, it was celebrated, shared, and tasted. From Indian classics to Japanese favorites to Korean staples, every snack on that table represented someone's story.

Alongside the tasting, Stephanie Kan, Product Manager at Instagram, organized a volunteer activation where Meta employees decorated meal bags for Heart of Dinner, a nonprofit delivering free meals to elderly Asian Americans in NYC.

Donald Overton lost his sight from a blast in Iraq while serving with the 82nd Airborne Division. He used to carry a backpack full of assistive devices just to get through his day.

Now, he uses Meta AI glasses to navigate airports, read menus, and live more independently.

"I can now go out to dinner with my wife and have a normal date night. I'm able to use the technology to read the menu to me."

Meta proudly presented Be Pro Be Proud Tennessee Draft Day, connecting 500+ students with 30+ employers for on-the-spot recruitment into apprenticeships and careers in construction, electrical, and engineering — critical trades powering the buildout of Meta's global data center infrastructure. At the first Be Pro Be Proud TN Draft Day, we helped turn connections into careers.

Since 2023, the Meta Gallatin Data Center has partnered with Be Pro Be Proud TN to engage over 50,000 students through immersive experiences using VR and other simulators. Through the mobile workshop, Be Pro Be Proud showcases careers in the skilled trades available across the state, as well as the certifications and education pathways available in these fields.
