30 years ago, Smart Safety Software started with four people and an idea.

That idea changed how law enforcement officers, FBI agents, and military personnel document and investigate the scenes they respond to every day.

As we celebrate this milestone in 2026, we're sharing the stories of the people who made it happen.

Meet Rich Petri — 16 years with the team. The guy who actually built the cabinets in our first office back in 1993, and came back in 2010 to work there.

The IT specialist who moved our support operation from Excel spreadsheets to remote support tools.

And outside of work? He helps raise thousands of dollars for veterans every year through the Bowlers to Veterans Link!

Rich's story is one of many. This is what 30 years looks like when the right people show up.

Yesterday, the SmartSafety team gathered to celebrate someone who has been a big part of our story for the past 18 years — Greg Prosch.

Today marks Greg’s last day with SmartSafety as he officially begins his retirement, and we couldn’t let the moment pass without celebrating the years of hard work, dedication, and memories he has shared with our team.

From the people he has worked alongside to the customers he has supported, Greg has made a lasting impact on SmartSafety and the people around him.

We’re grateful for everything Greg has brought to the team over the years, and even more grateful that we had the chance to celebrate him together yesterday.

Congratulations on your retirement, Greg! We wish you all the best in this next chapter — you’ve certainly earned it! 🎉

After 18 years of writing code, building software, and setting the standard for what it means to be a great teammate, Greg Prosch is officially retiring this Friday, August 28th.

Greg joined SmartSafety (Trancite) in 2008. Over nearly two decades, he helped develop ATTAC Explorer for EOD teams, navigated three company acquisitions, and helped maintain a culture completely free of office politics.

When asked what he learned during his time here, Greg kept it simple: "If a company is loyal to people and genuinely cares for them, that loyalty is often returned tenfold."

As we celebrate our 30th anniversary, we are also celebrating the people who got us here. Greg, thank you for 18 incredible years. Enjoy the backpacking, the board games, and the brewing.

30 Years. Countless Stories.

What does 24 years at SmartSafety Software look like?

For Brenda Crowe, it means starting her career fresh out of college, joining a team of just six or seven people, learning as technology changed, working on projects across the years, and building relationships with people who became more than coworkers.

As we celebrate 30 years of SmartSafety, we're sharing the stories of the people who have helped shape our journey. Brenda's 24-year story is one of curiosity, adaptability, friendship, and a whole lot of learning along the way.

What an incredible week at the ATSIP-Traffic Records Forum!

A sincere thank you to the ATSIP Board for organizing another outstanding conference and creating a space where traffic safety professionals can come together to collaborate, learn, and share ideas that make a difference.

We also want to thank everyone who visited the SmartSafety Software booth, attended presentations, asked thoughtful questions, and took the time to learn more about AutoScene Draw (ASD). It was a pleasure connecting with agencies from across the country and hearing about the innovative work happening within your traffic records programs.

Whether we talked about statewide deployments, automated crash diagramming, or what's next for traffic records technology, we're grateful for every conversation and the opportunity to be part of your journey.

Thank you for making ATSIP 2026 one to remember. Safe travels home, and we'll see you again soon!

National Night Out reminds us that the people behind the badge are part of the community, too. SmartSafety Software helps officers in the field, allowing them to spend more time engaging with the individuals they protect.

After a month of searching for signal in all the wrong places... we're finally where we need to be!

From dodging voodoo curses and outrunning French Quarter ghosts to definitely not recommending alligator surfing or commandeering Mardi Gras floats, we've had a little fun highlighting a very real challenge: crash investigations don't always happen where connectivity is reliable.

The good news? AutoScene Draw (ASD) works in connected and disconnected environments, so officers can focus on documenting the scene—not hunting for a signal.

The SmartSafety Software team is officially in New Orleans and ready for an exciting week at the ATSIP Traffic Records Forum!

If you're attending, stop by and meet the team. We'd love to show you how ASD is helping agencies modernize crash diagramming with automated, accurate, to-scale diagrams, and why more states are choosing ASD to support their traffic records programs.

📍 Come visit us at the conference this week, ask questions, see a live demo, and discover what statewide crash diagramming can look like for your agency.

We can't wait to see you in New Orleans!

👻 Searching for a signal is frustrating. Searching for a signal while being chased by French Quarter ghosts? Now that really is something else.

Fortunately, with AutoScene Draw (ASD), you can work in connected or disconnected environments, so you can finish your crash diagram first and investigate the paranormal activity later.

Tomorrow, the ATSIP Traffic Records Forum officially kicks off in New Orleans, and the SmartSafety Software team is ready to show you why agencies across the country are making the move to ASD.

See firsthand how ASD automatically generates accurate, to-scale crash diagrams in seconds through automated scene generation and eCrash integration. Learn why Louisiana became the nation's first statewide ASD deployment through CARTS and how other agencies
are modernizing crash documentation with faster, more consistent workflows.

If you're attending ATSIP, don't let this be another booth you walk past.

👋 Stop by, meet the team, ask questions, and discover why more agencies are choosing ASD to modernize crash reporting.

We'll see you in New Orleans!

We do NOT support commandeering a Mardi Gras float to get three bars of service.

Fortunately, with AutoScene Draw (ASD), you don't have to.

Whether you're documenting a crash in a busy downtown, along a rural highway, or somewhere with little to no connectivity, ASD works in both connected and disconnected environments, so officers can keep documenting the scene instead of searching for a signal.

Across the country, agencies are already making the move. Louisiana became the nation's first statewide ASD deployment through CARTS, and other states are following suit as they modernize crash diagramming with automated, accurate, to-scale diagrams generated in seconds.

If you're attending the ATSIP Traffic Records Forum next week, stop by and see why more agencies are choosing ASD, and why you won't want your state to be the one left behind.

📍 Visit SmartSafety Software at ATSIP, August 1-6, in New Orleans.
