Called SpaceMobile, this ultra-powerful network is being designed to provide connectivity at 4G/5G speeds everywhere on the planet – on land, at sea and in flight. For the first time ever, mobile subscribers will be able to automatically roam from

land networks to a space network. Whether in the most remote location, on rural farmland or in the midst of a crisis or natural disaster, people will remain connected no matter what – without having to invest in expensive, specialized hardware.

A new satellite connectivity capability is taking shape in New Zealand.

2degrees has officially opened the Marton Satellite Ground Station.

The gateway links AST SpaceMobile’s global satellite system with 2degrees’ core infrastructure, advancing integration to deliver voice, broadband data and text directly to everyday smartphones, without specialized devices.

With nearly 50 gateways in various stages of completion, installation, and planning, we continue to build out our global gateway footprint, bringing us another step closer to commercial service for people to stay seamlessly connected wherever they live, work and travel.

BlueBirds 12 and 13 are now fully deployed.

Each 2,400-square-foot communications array is part of a platform built to address far more than mobile connectivity. From cellular broadband to AI computing and advanced government applications, such as space-based radar capabilities.

Production of BlueBird 14 is completed, while BlueBirds 15 and 16 are nearing completion and are not far behind as we move towards launch, with production advancing through BlueBird 48.
