Chromecast
JRemote should have Chromecast support later this month. Watch the [url=http://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php?board=37.0]Remotes board on our forum for the announcement.

3D Blu-ray
3D Blu-ray support is under development, thanks to the work of developers madshi (madVR) and Hendrik/nevcairiel (JRiver/LAV). You can follow their progress on our forum.

TV
MC's TV has numerous setup and EPG improvements, new channel logos, and EPG color coding for sports, news, etc.

JRiver Hardware
We recently lowered the JRiver Id prices, thanks to lower parts costs. The Id has been very successful as a reliable DLNA Renderer or Server. It uses less than 10 watts of electricity so it can be run 24 hours/day. It works well with JRemote and Gizmo, so it can be run without a monitor.

Mac and Linux
De-interlaced video support is coming soon. Many fixes. Support for images and video.

IoT
We've begun a long-term Internet of Things project. See Gene's comments below for more information.

When JRiver introduced the Mac and Linux versions of Media Center, we found that customers wanted a license that would work with all three versions. Unfortunately, our licensing system couldn't do this.

We have some good news. You can now buy a Master License that works with JRiver Media Center 20 on all three operating systems.

It is available at a very special price -- $44.98 through January 28 (regular price $79.98).

You can also upgrade to the master license for $19.98 through January 28 (regular price $24.98) if you own any MC20 license and you have the program installed and licensed.

You may need to download the latest version to use this license. If you don't see the correct price, please don't complete the transaction. No coupons may be applied to this offer.

If you already own MC20 for any two of the operating systems, and they use the same e-mail address, we will send you a Master License free of charge by February 1. You don't need to contact us for this.

JRiver WDM Driver
Have you ever used a browser to listen to a music service like Spotify, Pandora, or Tidal, and noticed that you don't have the same volume control and DSP that you do in JRiver Media Center? We have an exciting new answer for this problem.

With MC's new WDM driver, you can use JRiver for Windows as the sound driver in any audio or video application. When you install MC 20.0.41 or above, a WDM driver is also installed. You can tell any application to use it, or you can set it as the Windows default, so that all applications route their sound through JRiver. You'll be able to use your hardware remote, JRemote, or Gizmo to control the audio. It takes less than a minute to set it up.

JRiver Id -- High Quality Audio Hardware
The JRiver Id is a network media player. The Id (rhymes with hid) plays high quality audio from a computer anywhere on the network. It can be controlled with a smartphone as a remote, using Gizmo (for Android), JRemote (for iOS), or any standard DLNA Controller.

The Id provides an easy connection from a computer to a sound system, even when they are at opposite ends of your home.

Upgrade to MC20
If you haven't already done so, you can upgrade to JRiver Media Center 20 from any previous version of Media Center for just $26.98. Your old library will be automatically upgraded, too. Definitions
Driver -- a piece of software that directly addresses a piece of hardware, like a sound card.
WDM -- Windows Driver Model, a type of Microsoft driver.
DSP -- Digital Signal Processing lets you modify the sound. Volume control, volume leveling, equalization, room correction, effects -- all of these are examples of DSP.
