The scariest thing this Halloween? Software pricing that limits the good you do. 🎃

Some foundations are capping scholarships just to stay under a pricing bracket. Your software should never decide how many students you can help.

We heard this again and again at conferences this fall. Foundation leaders told us renewal increases are hard to plan for, and pricing that grows with assets or grantmaking volume punishes growth. Some are even thinking about leaving products they like because of cost.

$617.2 billion. That is how much was given to charity in 2025, the first time total giving has passed $600 billion.

This week, Christina Daniken of Giving USA joined our CEO, Mark Montoya, to break down the 2026 report and what it means for foundations. Foundations gave about $117 billion, bequests grew 19.7%, and donor advised funds keep growing.

We also asked our attendees how things looked at their own foundations. Even though giving to foundations dipped nationally, 72% said giving to their foundation increased in 2025.

Thank you, National Scholarship Providers Association!

Our first NSPA conference was everything we hoped for. Spending a week in San Antonio surrounded by scholarship providers, people who dedicate their work to opening doors for students, left us energized and inspired. Thank you to everyone who stopped by our booth to share your stories. Your visits made a real difference.

We loved sharing dinner with our clients from the Community Foundation for Southwest Washington, Barberton Community Foundation, Grand Rapids Community Foundation, and Akron Community Foundation. And Charles Clarke's keynote is one we'll be thinking about for a long time.

We're already counting down to next year!
