Fire Truck Face Off was a blast! 32 fire departments participated in a wildly successful competition to benefit local charities. It was an intense, competitive, and highly engaging social campaign that we were proud to manage for Golden State Fire Apparatus, Inc. with one unforgettable payoff—the Alameda Fire Department Chief promised to kiss a pig if they won—AND THEY WON!

Bosco the Pig absolutely stole the show. 💋🐷

How do you help a client tell their story? By combining strategy, artistry, and collaboration.

Looking back at our work with Burchell Nursery in the 1990s, the challenge was clear: they had incredible fruit and nut trees rooted in decades of expertise, but their print materials didn’t match their level of innovation.

MHD Group stepped in to bridge that gap. Marcia Herrmann worked closely with Burchell’s sales leader, Ron Boone (who captured stunning field photography), to create catalogs that were more than just lists - they were strategic narrative tools that created a tactile experience:

• Blind emboss and foil stamping
• Rich, authentic photography
• Strong messaging rooted in grower success, quality rootstock, and innovation

At a time when most competitors relied on simple listings, Burchell’s materials reflected the sophistication of a company that had been advancing plant breeding and tree quality for decades.

It was branding with purpose - and it showed.

Founded in 1942 in Modesto, California, Burchell was already a powerhouse - a multi-generational leader known for innovation, integrity, and a deep commitment to growers.

Through beautifully designed catalogs—ranging from 20 to 36 pages—each piece communicated not just products, but philosophy; telling the story of Burchell’s dedication to quality rootstock, research, and long-term success for farmers.

These weren’t just catalogs - they were brand statements.

At our agency, we know our team is full of top-tier creative talent, but this weekend they took it to a whole new level!

We are incredibly proud to celebrate Sarah Miller, Logan Miller, and Rachel Asplund for taking home Best Picture at the 2026 Modesto 48 Hour Film Festival!

Their winning short film, "6PM SHARP!", beat out 75 competing teams and also earned a prestigious Best Acting nomination.

The 48-hour film challenge pushes creatives to their absolute limits, requiring rapid problem-solving, flawless ex*****on, and heavy collaboration under a tight deadline. These are the exact traits that Sarah, Rachel, and Logan bring to our client projects every single day.

The Hub is doing incredible work as a community-centered initiative of the Stanislaus County Public Defender 's Office, and we were honored to lead their brand communication strategy. Our goal? Create bold visuals and messaging that reflect the strength and support available to justice-involved individuals in our community.
