Muscatine Power and Water (MPW) is a customer-driven, municipal utility. We provide electric, water, and communications products and services. We have the largest power generating capacity of any municipal utility in the state of Iowa. We're headquartered in Muscatine, Iowa, a historic town of 22,886 located on the banks of the Mississippi River, 20 miles downstream from the Illinois/Iowa Quad Cit
ies. At MP&W, we exist to add value to our community and we’re proud of our role. We provide electricity to approximately 11,300* customers, and water to more than 9,620* customers. We own and operate three coal-fired electric generating facilities with a combined nameplate capacity of 293.55 MW. Our facilities for water production, treatment, and distribution pump an average of 26 million gallons of water a day. We serve approximately 7,350* cable subscribers, 7,200 MachLink subscribers, and 61 MachLink® Metro Ethernet (MME) customers. Our state-of-the-art communications services include a hybrid fiber coax (HFC) system that is the backbone for our communications utility. The HFC system is made up of fiber optic loops throughout Muscatine and coaxial cable connections to homes and businesses. Our products include MPW DigitalTV, MPW DigitalTV On Demand, MPW DigitalTV SVOD, MPW DigitalTV HD/DVR, MachLink® high-speed Internet service (featuring cable modem, dial-up, MachLink® Wifi@Home, and WiMax), and MME services.
