Planning to attend the Downtown Muscatine 4th of July Parade? The parade route has changed!

📍 NEW PARADE ROUTE:
➡️ Begins on Iowa Avenue at 5th Street
➡️ Continues onto 3rd Street
➡️ Travels over to Mulberry Avenue
➡️ Proceeds up to 5th Street
➡️ Ends at Cedar Street

👀 Be sure to review the new route map when planning where to watch the parade, park, or access downtown on July 4th.

Tonight, the Nobert F. Beckey Bridge lights will be blue in recognition of the Global MND Awareness Day. That began in 1997, led by the International Alliance of ALS/MND Associations. The date - June 21, the summer solstice - symbolizes light, strength, and the resilience of the global MND community. Over time, this day has grown into a powerful platform, bringing together voices from all corners of the world.

Bridge light requests are available via the mpw.org website.

Important Update for SmartHub Users:

To continue making payments through SmartHub, mobile users will need to update their app to version 26.3 by Tuesday, June 23, 2026.

Here’s what to expect:

Android users: You’ll be prompted to update via the Google Play Store when opening the app.If your Android is set to auto update, you should already be on the 26.3 version, and no further action is required.

iPhone/iPad users: A message will appear on the SmartHub home screen. Please note, mobile payments will be unavailable until the update is completed. If your iOS (Apple device) is set to auto update, you should already be on the 26.3 version, and no further action is required.

You may also notice a refreshed look on the payment screens—while the design is updated, the information you enter remains the same.

Wed 1:00 pm. MPW is currently experiencing an electric outage along Hwy 61/Grandview Ave impacting about 110 customers. Assessment is underway.

Please stay away from any downed lines, or anything touching a downed line like tree, fence, or vehicle.

MPW employees came together for a meaningful day of service—assisting Sleep in Heavenly Peace during a community “Build Day.” Volunteers cut, sanded, and stained bed kits, while also raising funds to provide bedding for each child who receives a bed.

Sleep in Heavenly Peace is a nonprofit organization that builds and delivers beds to children ages 3–17 in Muscatine County who are without one—at no cost to their families. We’re proud to support their mission and help ensure that no kid sleeps on the floor in our town. Thank you to everyone who gave their time, energy, and heart to this effort!

UPDATE 6:20 am. Maintenance is complete. Thank you!

UPDATE Tues 6 am. An issue has been discovered and some customer’s service has not been restored. Technicians expect that to be corrected within the next hour and then maintenance will be complete. We apologize for the extended time to complete the work.

MPW Communications Technicians will be performing maintenance starting at midnight tonight (Monday). Overhead fiber prone to animal damage will be converted to an underground path. Around 300 customers are expected to be impacted. Area of town to be impacted include Mulberry/Leroy to Bidwell to Sunrise Circle and nearby areas.
Maintenance will begin tonight at midnight through 6 am. Internet, TV and phone services will be impacted. Customers with an email address on file with MPW were previously notified. If services are not restored by 6 am, please contact us at 563-263-2631, Opt 2. Thank you in advance for your patience while this important work is completed.
