Meet Celeste. 🐈

Celeste the cat has always had an air of mystery about her. She lives in her own little bubble of whimsy, not because she wants to be isolated from the world, but because she knows how to create her own little environment of joy, curiosity, and playfulness.

She’s imaginative. She trusts her intuition. She embraces her sensitivity. She’s approachable, playful, polished, and bright.

Basically, she embodies quite a lot of what I want Fanciful Ink Design to be.

When I created the brand identity, I wanted the logo to feel like more than just a name. I wanted an illustrated character with a little world of her own. Something that could hold the playful, thoughtful, artistic spirit behind the work.

And after all these years of quietly sitting there looking adorable, I decided Celeste deserved a little movement.

So here she is, making her animated debut.

She may have just gotten a little too comfortable in the spotlight. ✨

If you’re new here, or if you’ve only known me for wedding invitations, hi. 👋🏻 I’m Laurie, the designer and illustrator behind Fanciful Ink Design.
I’m a graphic designer, illustrator, creative director, business owner, and mom. When I’m not designing for a client or dreaming up a new product, I’m usually doing something fun with my daughter, sketching an idea that popped into my head at an inconvenient time, or noticing some little beautiful thing that I immediately want to draw.
Fanciful Ink Design started with custom wedding invitations and stationery, but it has grown into so much more.
I create custom wedding invitations and wedding stationery, brand identity and graphic design, custom illustration, artwork and surface patterns, personal stationery, and now licensed artwork for home and lifestyle goods.
Basically, I like making beautiful things. And I like figuring out all the places an illustration can go.
A wedding invitation can become a keepsake.A drawing can become a meaningful gift.A pattern can become wallpaper.An idea that started in my sketchbook can eventually find its way into someone’s home.
That part really excites me.
So while weddings will always be a special part of Fanciful Ink, I’m also building a creative world around the artwork itself, and finding new ways to bring a little more beauty and joy into everyday life.

At the edge of the woods, where the sunset turns the sky a little darker and the garden grows a little stranger, there’s a small cottage surrounded by things most people might think twice about planting. Each little garden bed is carefully labeled, as though its keeper is equal parts gardener, naturalist, and collector of curious things.
With its dusky sky, crooked trees, warm cottage windows, and alluring garden path, The Garden at Gloaming brings a little dark cottagecore magic to the everyday. It’s mysterious without being menacing, romantic without being overly sweet, and just strange enough to make you stop and look a little closer.
A place for curious minds, unusual flowers, and anyone who has always believed the most interesting things are growing just beyond the garden gate.
