College coaches get a lot of messages. Make yours an easy one to answer. 📩

A strong first message tells a coach who you are, why you want their program, and where they can see you play next. Put your name, grad year, and position in the subject line so they know right away what they’re opening. Then keep it short and personal, and proofread before you send.

✅ The truth? In most cases, academic and athletic aid can be combined, and many programs do this to help athletes get more financial support.

📩 Make yourself eligible. Keeping your grades up and test scores strong can open the door to valuable academic scholarships, which can be stacked with athletic aid to reduce your overall cost of attendance.
