Helping out my fellow self-publishers - here’s how you can get an ISBN for your book!

NOTE: ISBNs do not apply to single-issue comics, which are technically classified as periodicals or magazines, not books. Instead, comics use a UPC (Universal Product Code), but I personally have never bothered with those. Graphic novels and trade paperbacks CAN have an ISBN, however, since they are considered a single, static book!

Three things I look for in a comic book artist! ✍️

BONUS: I also match artists and their styles to a specific story idea. For example, if it’s something horror, maybe an artist who’s good at stark lighting, or has a knack for drawing monsters. It’s also good to check with an artist, see what they ENJOY drawing, and write to that!
