CTS has been in business since 2003 providing outstanding business to business customer service and technical support. We are currently seeking a full time, Lead Low Voltage Engineer candidate to lead our cabling team to augment our business technical support team.
Job Description:
The Lead Low Voltage Engineer position acts as the leader of the CTS cabling division working alongside the sales and service teams to deliver a superior customer experience. This includes sales engineering duties as it relates to quoting low voltage cabling work, as well as completion of the work itself and providing leadership for other cabling technicians.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Schedule and complete cabling projects including but not limited to; CAT5/5E/6/6A cabling, wireless access point installation, IP camera installation, and some audio video work.
• Act as the sales engineer for large scale cabling jobs.
• Consult with sales and service teams to provide advice as needed.
• Direct other low voltage technicians in the completion of cabling tasks.
• Understand the products and markets we serve.
• Engage in professional behavior both internally and externally as the position is a high touch point with customers.
• Work with management to fine tune processes, increase proficiency, identify growth areas and better the organization as a whole.
• Be prepared for occasional after-hours projects and off-site jobs
• Support and encourage cross training, on-going education and opportunities that enhance the employee’s growth.
• Attend and support customer implementation meetings.
• Attend to obligations and support other company initiatives as directed.
• Track time and expenses according to company policy.
• Maintain all relevant equipment and inventory including but not limited to; vehicles, trailers, power tools, cabling materials and certification/testing equipment.
• Understanding and working knowledge of fiber optics with ability to quote necessary product as well as terminate and splice fiber connections.

Qualifications:
Minnesota PLT license.
4+ years of direct experience with low voltage cable installation and maintenance.
Demonstrated willingness to learn and grow
Superior problem-solving skills.
Strong PC skills, including experience using Office, Outlook, related software.
Understanding of basic networking principles (IP addressing, subnets, VLANs, etc).
Superior communication, organization, and follow-through skills are essential.
Proven initiative, good judgment, and ability to achieve results.
Able to handle process and procedure dynamics in a constantly changing environment.
Ability to read and understand blueprints.
Candidate must have a valid driver’s license and submit to a background check including driving record verification.
