๐Ÿ‘‰ In June 2026, Google put out an emergency Chrome update to fix a flaw (CVE-2026-11645) attackers were already exploiting. The flaw's in Chrome itself, so just visiting a malicious web page is enough to get hit.

This is one of several Chrome flaws attackers have exploited in 2026.

Updating takes 30 seconds. Click the three dots in the top right of Chrome, go to Help, then About Google Chrome. Chrome will update automatically once you open that page, then click Relaunch to finish. Do the same in Microsoft Edge, which runs on the same engine and needs the same fix. And if your IT provider manages your updates, ask them to confirm this one's done.

Browser updates only take effect after you restart, and a lot of us leave Chrome open for weeks. So restart it today.

Google released security updates for 74 Chrome vulnerabilities, including CVE-2026-11645, a high-severity V8 out-of-bounds memory access flaw.

That rule automatically sends a copy of certain emails, usually anything about invoices, payments, or banking, to an outside address the attacker controls. Even after you notice something's wrong and change the password, the rule keeps feeding them your mail. That's how a single break-in turns into months of invoice fraud.

Check your own account right now:
1๏ธโƒฃ Open Outlook on the web, click the gear icon (Settings), then Mail.
2๏ธโƒฃ Look under both "Rules" and "Forwarding".
3๏ธโƒฃ Delete any rule you didn't create, especially ones that forward to an outside email address or move finance emails into an odd folder.

Then ask your IT provider to do two things across your whole organization: block automatic forwarding to outside addresses and turn on an alert whenever a new forwarding rule is created.

A forwarding rule is invisible to the person whose account it's running on, so the only way to catch one is to look. ๐Ÿ‘€

It's easy to treat a computer as something you only replace when it dies. As long as it still switches on, a new one feels like money you don't need to spend.

Every slow start-up in the morning, every wait for a file to open, every frozen call someone has to drop and rejoin is a couple of minutes gone.

It happens over and over, all day, to everyone stuck on an old machine. Add it up across a year and it's well past the price of a new laptop.

And that's before the frustration, or the fact that old machines stop getting security updates, which makes a slow computer a risky one too.

You don't have to replace everything at once. Just look at how old your team's computers are.

Around the three or four year mark is usually where a machine starts costing you more in lost time than a replacement would.

Ask your staff which computers drive them mad and they'll tell you straight away.

Your IT provider can also point out which ones are near the end of their supported life, since those tend to be both the slowest and the least safe.

For old network gear, these devices have a limited shelf life. Once a certain point passes, they stop getting security updates.

So do this ๐Ÿ‘‡
โ–ถ๏ธ Ask your IT provider for a list of your network gear, with the model and whether it's still getting security updates. Anything past end of life should be on a replacement plan.
โ–ถ๏ธ Don't only think about the firewall. Old switches, access points, even that ancient backup router count too.
โ–ถ๏ธ When you buy new gear, check the support timeline, not just the price. Cheaper hardware sometimes hits end of life years sooner.

Regular Copilot helps you write or summarize while you work. Copilot Cowork goes further. It runs whole multi-step tasks on its own, like organizing files, pulling information out of documents, and sending emails, then hands back the finished result.

๐Ÿ‘‰ It became generally available worldwide on June 16, 2026, for Microsoft 365 Copilot customers.

Instead of a flat monthly fee, Cowork charges by usage, through what Microsoft calls Copilot Credits, at about one cent per credit. A few small tasks won't cost much. A whole team running it all day can add up faster than a fixed subscription.

If you're going to let your team try it, set spending limits first. Microsoft lets you cap usage at the organization, group, or individual level. Decide what you're comfortable spending before you turn people loose on it.

Copilot Cowork is now generally available worldwide, bringing secure, AI-powered automation for complex enterprise tasks in Microsoft 365.

As password-based attacks continue to drive the majority of credential compromises, organizations are increasingly evaluating passkeys as part of a phishing-resistant authentication strategy.

Our latest article explores common misconceptions around passkeys, including device compromise concerns, biometric privacy, phishing resistance, and the distinction between synced and device-bound passkeys.

For IT leaders and security teams planning long-term identity security strategies, understanding these differences is critical.

Which passkey deployment model do you believe best balances security and usability?

Passkeys are the gold standard for authentication in the security world. They are secure replacements for passwords that use cryptographic math instead of text.

Search Google for almost anything now and there's a good chance an AI-written answer sits at the top of the page. They already show up on a large share of searches, and that share keeps climbing.

When it's there, most people read it and never click through to a website at all.

That changes how people find you. Someone used to search a question your business could answer, land on your page, look around, and get in touch. Now the AI hands them the answer and they move on, and they never see you.

The businesses that get quoted inside those AI answers are getting more visits than before. So, it's worth becoming the source it pulls from.

Start with your website. Make sure it answers the questions your customers ask, in plain words rather than marketing waffle, because that's what the AI picks up.

Keep your Google Business Profile filled out and correct.

And get your name onto other respected sites in your field. The more solid places that mention you, the more the AI leans on you.

If your visitors from search have been dropping and you couldn't work out why, this is a big part of it.

08/26/2026

Your website is online all day, every day, and most owners never think about its security. You don't need to be a security expert. ๐‡๐ž๐ซ๐ž'๐ฌ ๐ฐ๐ก๐š๐ญ ๐ญ๐จ ๐œ๐ก๐ž๐œ๐ค:

โœ… Make sure your site uses HTTPS, the padlock in the browser bar. It's standard now, and visitors (and Google) treat sites without it as untrustworthy.
โœ… Keep the software behind your site updated. If you're on WordPress or similar, outdated plugins are the number one way these sites get hacked. Set them to update
automatically or have someone check monthly.
โœ… Lock down the admin login. A strong password, MFA, and don't use "admin" as the username. It's the door attackers try first.
โœ… If your site has contact or signup forms, make sure they're protected against spam and abuse, and that anything customers enter is sent and stored securely.

If a web designer built your site and then disappeared, it's worth having someone do a quick once-over. A hacked website can serve malware to your own customers
without you ever knowing.

Most companies get breached and immediately descend into chaos. No one knows whoโ€™s in charge. Clients start asking questions they canโ€™t answer.

And while they're running around like chickens with their heads cut off, their reputation goes down the drain and their bank account gets emptied out.

Use this 5-step plan to make sure that never happens to you: ๐Ÿ‘‡

๐Ÿ’. There are strict deadlines depending on your location and industry. Miss them, and you could face fines that dwarf the cost of the breach itself.
๐Ÿ“. You need to get ahead of the story before someone else does. Donโ€™t leave space for rumors or assumptions.

Having this plan in place means you can respond with confidence, and keep your reputation, compliance, and client trust intact.

If you donโ€™t have a breach plan yet, or want a fresh set of eyes on your current one, send us a message and weโ€™ll gladly help! Like with most things, itโ€™s better to rehearse now than react later.

When you share a file in Google Drive, OneDrive, SharePoint, or Dropbox, you usually get two choices: share with specific people, or share with "anyone with the link." The second one is fast and easy, which is why people pick it. But a link can be forwarded, copied into an email, or left inside another document, and anyone who ends up with it can open the file, with no login or permission check needed.

๐Ÿ‘‰ Fix it:
โœ… Change your default to share with named people or groups instead of "anyone with the link," so only the people you choose can open the file.
โœ… Audit what's already open. In Google Drive, you can filter by "Shared" and review what's set to link access. In OneDrive or SharePoint, use "Manage access" on your sensitive files and folders.

Pay special attention to anything with customer data, financials, or contracts. Those are the files where open link-sharing does the most damage.
