Your website has been out here representing you every single day — while you sleep, while you're with clients, while you're doing the actual work — and if it could write you a letter, I genuinely think it would have some notes.

The contact form that stopped working in March. The mobile layout that's fine on your laptop and a bit of a situation on everyone's phone. The homepage that takes a beat too long to say what you actually do. The blog you mentioned you were going to start. (It's still waiting.)

None of this is a disaster. None of it requires burning everything down and starting over. It requires someone to sit with your website honestly — from the outside, the way a stranger would — and tell you what's actually going on.

That's what the free 30-minute consultation is. I look at your website. I tell you what's working and what isn't. I tell you the most important thing to fix and whether that's something you can do yourself this week or something that needs a little more.

No pitch. No packages. Just an honest read from someone who does this every day and genuinely wants your website to work as hard as you do.

Link below! Your website will thank you.

(The form is probably still broken. Let's check.) 💙

I've watched small business owners spend real money on a rebrand when what was broken was the contact form on their website. Nobody could reach them. The logo was fine. The form wasn't working.

New logo doesn't fix that.

Here's the thing about rebranding. It feels like action. It's visible, it's exciting, it gives you something to post about and people will genuinely compliment the new logo and for a minute it feels like something changed.

But the leads problem is still there. The "nobody can find me on Google" problem is still there. The "people land on my website and leave" problem is still there. Because those problems were never about the logo.

Before you rebrand, answer this honestly: what specifically do you believe will change after? Not vaguely — specifically. More inquiries? Better-fit clients? Higher conversion? Write it down.

If you can't answer it specifically, you might need a diagnosis of what's actually broken before you need a new identity. A successful rebrand makes the business easier to understand, easier to trust, and easier to buy from. If it doesn't move those things, the new logo is just a new logo.

The free consultation exists for exactly this. Come tell me what isn't working. I'll tell you honestly whether it's a brand problem, a website problem, or something else entirely — and whether I'm even the right person to fix it.
That's the whole offer. No pitch behind it.

I look at small business websites for a living and I want to tell you something nobody in your life has probably said directly:

A website that looks okay and a website that is doing its job are two completely different things.

I've seen beautiful websites that Google cannot find. Credible-looking websites where the contact form hasn't been working for six months and nobody knew. Mobile layouts that collapse into chaos the second someone pulls them up on a phone — which is how most people are finding you.

The painful part is that you can't always see it from the inside. You've been looking at your own website long enough that your brain fills in the gaps. You know what it means. You know where everything is. You've lost the ability to be a stranger landing on it cold.

Here's what a stranger sees in the first eight seconds: does this tell me what they do, do I trust them, and do I know how to reach them.

If any of those answers are unclear — they're leaving.

Not because your business isn't the right fit. Because your website didn't make the case fast enough.

The free 30-minute consultation is exactly for this. I look at your site, I tell you what's working and what isn't, and I tell you what the most important thing to fix is.

No packages. No pressure. Just the honest read.

Your website goes down at 9pm on a Saturday before your biggest event of the year.

Your contact form mysteriously stopped sending and you have no idea when it started.

Something's broken and you don't know what, and the hosting company's support chat just told you your ticket is number 847 in the queue.

This is a real thing that happens to real small businesses. And it is genuinely terrible when it happens to you with no one to call.

I offer emergency website services. If I can fix it within 45 minutes — it's free. Because small businesses shouldn't be held hostage by website emergencies and a support ticket purgatory.

Some weeks you have everything. Ideas are flowing, you're on top of your inbox, you remembered to eat lunch — twice — and your to-do list is a thing of beauty.

Some weeks you are surviving. You are doing the absolute minimum and calling it a win, which it is, because you're still here and the business is still running.

Both of those weeks happen. They will keep happening. And the systems you build — including your website — should be able to survive the second kind of week without requiring the first kind of energy.

That's something I think about a lot when I work with neurodivergent business owners. Not "what does the ideal version of you need" but "what does the I-have-nothing-left version of you need to still be able to maintain this."

If you're running a business on a neurodivergent brain and you want a web presence that works with how you actually function — not how productivity culture says you should function — I'm here for that conversation.

Genuinely one of the most common things I see:

A small business with a perfectly decent website. Clean design. Mobile-friendly. Looks professional. The owner is proud of it. They should be — it was work to get there.

And Google has absolutely no idea it exists.

Having a website is not the same as being visible. A site can be clean, professional, and mobile-friendly and still rank on page four for every keyword that matters.

And here's the part people don't talk about: in 2026, when someone types a question into ChatGPT, Google's AI Overview, or Perplexity, they don't get ten links anymore. They get one answer. And if you're not in that answer, you're not in that conversation at all.

A single character difference in your business address across five platforms can cost you visibility you never knew existed. Your Google Business Profile sitting unclaimed and half-filled out is costing you the people who were already looking for you. The website that doesn't tell Google's crawlers what you do, where you do it, and for whom — it might as well be a very pretty PDF sitting in a folder nobody opened.

This is not a lecture. It's the thing I wish someone had said plainly to a lot of the people I've met who built something real and then couldn't figure out why nobody was finding it.

You might not need a new website. You might need someone to look at the one you have and figure out exactly why it's invisible — and fix it.

That's what the free consultation is for. Not a sales pitch. A diagnosis. Come find out what's actually going on.

Throwback to when Toast decided that the best place to be was directly between me and whatever deadline I was working on.😊

Toast has been my coworker for years and she has never once asked for a salary, but she does require that I stop what I'm doing immediately when she decides my desk is her bed now.

Non-negotiable. She's reviewed the contract. It's in there.

This was one of those nights where I was deep in someone's CSS at an hour I won't admit to, and she just... installed herself. Right there. Looked at the screen for about four seconds, decided it wasn't her problem, and went to sleep.

Honestly? Goals.

I don't have a point here. I just found this photo and immediately felt the exact specific energy of that night: the blue light, the chaos in the file tree, the cat who could not care less... and I needed to share it.

Some nights the work is glamorous. Most nights it's this. And I wouldn't actually trade it. 🐱

Okay, real talk.

Sometimes a website costs $5,000. Sometimes it costs more. There are real reasons for that: custom design from scratch, complex functionality, agency overhead, and I'm not going to pretend those reasons don't exist.

But a lot of small businesses, nonprofits, and startups get quoted numbers like that by companies whose pricing is built for enterprise clients. And then they either pay more than they need to, or they decide they can't afford a website at all and keep running everything off a page.

Neither of those outcomes is good.

I'm transparent about what things take. I'll tell you what you actually need and what you don't. And if honestly the right answer for your situation is a free Squarespace template, I'll tell you that too.

(It probably isn't. But I'll tell you if it is.)

Look. I'm not judging. I've seen all of these in the wild. Some of them in combination. Simultaneously.

The page is great. I have one. But it's a rental property — Facebook owns it, Facebook controls who sees it, and if Facebook decides to change the algorithm again (they will), your audience disappears.

Your website is the thing you own. It's the corner of the internet that belongs to you, that nobody can take away from you, that shows up in Google when someone searches for what you do, and that's there at 11pm when a potential client is doing their research and you're asleep.

If you're ready to move beyond "vibes" as a digital strategy — free consultation at the link: www.aurisecreative.com. Let's build you something real. 💙

AuRise Creative is a Pittsburgh business.

But the work we do is for anyone who needs it — small businesses, nonprofits, startups, and people trying to make something real in the digital space.

When you support AuRise, you're supporting a queer-owned, autistic-owned small business that puts its money where its mouth is: equitable pricing, accessibility-first design, and advocacy for the communities that are too often underserved by the tech industry.

We believe the internet should work for everyone. We believe good web design shouldn't be out of reach for organizations doing important work on a small budget. We believe you deserve a developer who treats you like a human being instead of a ticket number.

If that sounds like your kind of people — we'd love to hear about your project. Free consultation to start. Always.

Pittsburgh (and everywhere else) — we see you. 💙
