A new destination for retro gaming enthusiasts is opening its doors at 71 Federal Street in Pittsfield on Friday, May 1 at 12 pm. Pixel Vault, a community-driven retro video game store, is celebrating its grand opening with a special promotion, including a chance to win a PlayStation 5 Digital Edition.
The public is invited to the Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting Ceremony at 12 pm on Friday, May 1, 2026, and the store will remain open until 9 pm. Hours of operation (for now) will be Monday through Saturday, 10 am to 6 pm.
Pixel Vault specializes in curated classic video games, console repairs, and collectibles, with a focus on preserving gaming history and providing high-quality, tested hardware. The store offers a welcoming space for collectors, casual players, and anyone looking to revisit their favorite games.
To celebrate the grand opening, visitors will have the opportunity to enter a giveaway to win a PS5 Digital Edition. Guests can earn entries by visiting the store, making purchases, and participating in trade-ins. The winner will be announced live in-store and via livestream at 7:30 PM Eastern Time during the grand opening event.
In addition, all guests who attend the grand opening will receive a free Pixel Vault sticker, while supplies last.
“We wanted to create more than just a store—we’re building a place where the community can come together around gaming,” said Nathan Delsignore, co-owner of Pixel Vault. “The giveaway and opening event are just the beginning.”
Pixel Vault didn’t start with a business plan. It started with two separate paths that collided at the right time.
Tyler Alderman, co-owner of Pixel Vault, built his foundation in repair work and, in 2020—right in the middle of the pandemic—took the leap and opened QuickFix Mobile Repair & More on North Street. While most businesses were shutting down, he was just getting started. Over the years, he has built a reputation in the community for reliable, hands-on service, all while quietly exploring an idea in the background: bringing video games into the shop.
At the same time, Nathan had just left a role at a local IT company and was starting his own business out of his basement. A lifelong game collector, he sold on eBay to support the hobby. Looking for extra income, he listed a PlayStation 3 on Facebook Marketplace and mentioned he had more available.
That listing sparked a conversation.
Tyler reached out, asking if Nathan would be interested in doing consignment inside QuickFix.
Twenty minutes later, Nathan walked into the shop with a box of games.
That moment turned into something much bigger.
What started as a simple consignment setup quickly grew into a full retro gaming store—now known as Pixel Vault. Today, Pixel Vault offers curated classic games, collectibles, and a wide range of services, including disc resurfacing, console repair, and mobile phone and computer repair.
At its core, Pixel Vault is still built on the same foundation it started with, two people with the skills to fix things, a passion for gaming, and a drive to create something meaningful for the community.
