Dolores understood that real power comes from working people standing together. She broke barriers, organized communities, and fought tirelessly for workers, immigrants, women, and all those whose voices too often went unheard. Later in life, she found the courage to tell the truth about what she personally survived all while fighting for others and never stopped leading.

Her legacy lives on in every worker who stands up for dignity, every union member who fights for a better future, and every organizer who believes that change is possible.

We honor her life by continuing the work she dedicated herself to.”

Oregon, you have one more day to return your ballot by mail worry free. With recent changes to the Post Office, we recommend mailing your ballot back at least one week before election day.

If you need to use the mail after Oct. 27, bring your ballot into the Post Office and ask for a hand postmark. You can also use a secure, official drop box up until 8:00 PM on Election Day. Find one near you at oregonvotes.gov/dropbox.

DEADLINE EXTENDED - Prosper Portland and the Portland Housing Bureau (PHB) are recruiting applicants to serve on the Community Leadership Committee (CLC) for the Cully Tax Increment Finance (TIF) district. The CLC advises PHB and Prosper Portland staff, the Portland City Council, and the Prosper Portland Board of Commissioners by providing essential guidance, public recommendations, and oversight of the City’s development and implementation of the Cully TIF District 5-Year Action Plan.

The Cully TIF District 5-Year Action Plan, adopted by City Council in April 2026, was developed through a co-creation process between the CLC and the City. The plan guides the investment of approximately $31 million to affordable housing and economic development programs in alignment with the plan’s anti-displacement and stabilization goals.

If you live, work, volunteer, worship, have children enrolled in school, or have been displaced from within the Cully TIF District, consider being a part of the Cully TIF CLC. Apply at ProsperPortland.us/CullyCLC - applications will be accepted until Friday, October 30.
