Our office views are hard to beat, but Luke’s Lobster gives us some competition. 🦞

The flyte crew traded their desks for lunch on the waterfront and a little end-of-summer Portland sunshine. Not a bad way to spend the afternoon!

Client sighting! 👀

We spotted Bar Harbor Hospitality Group out in the wild, and now we’re dreaming about a coastal Maine getaway.

Ocean views, salty air, and a place to relax for a few days? Sounds pretty good to us.

Recently, flyte President, Rich Brooks, joined Vitor Tamborilla on the Vidpros Insiders podcast to talk about why GEO is quickly becoming an important part of the search conversation.

From discussing how businesses can adapt to GEO and changing search behavior to talking about AI more broadly, Rich shares why he considers himself cautiously optimistic about what comes next. There are plenty of real concerns about where AI could take us, but he’s hopeful that human creativity and innovation will help us find ways to address the challenges that come with it.

flyte President, Rich Brooks, was back on 207 recently, this time tackling a question that more parents, policymakers, and tech platforms are being forced to consider: should there be age limits for social media?

It’s not hard to see why the idea is gaining traction. Concerns around cyberbullying, how much time teens spend on their phones and social media, and the impact on mental health are all part of the conversation. Research shows a majority of people, especially parents of teens, support some form of age restriction, and countries like Australia have already started putting those limits in place.

So, where do you land? Should there be an age limit for social media?

A search like “What should I do in Portland, Maine on a sunny day?” used to lead to a page of links that people could open, compare, and explore.

Now, Google may place an AI Overview above those results. Instead of simply pointing people toward websites, it pulls information from multiple sources and creates a direct response, often including suggested places, activities, or businesses.

For marketers, that changes more than the layout of the search page. It changes when visibility happens.

A potential customer may begin forming their shortlist before they click anything. Businesses included in the AI-generated answer gain awareness and consideration immediately, while businesses that are harder for Google to understand may be left out of the conversation altogether.

SEO still matters because strong website content helps search engines find and understand your business. But visibility increasingly depends on making your expertise, services, location, and reputation clear across your website and other credible sources online.

The goal is no longer only to rank well enough to earn the click. It is also to become a business that search tools can confidently include in the answer.

Someone asks for your logo, colors, and fonts. You send the files you can find. Then the finished piece comes back with the wrong logo, a slightly different blue, and a font you’ve never seen before.

That’s not really a vendor problem. It’s a brand standards problem.

A brand style guide gives everyone who works with your brand the same rulebook, helping you build consistency, protect recognition, and avoid unnecessary rounds of corrections.

In our latest blog, flyte Creative Director, Ryan Goan explains what belongs in a brand style guide and why businesses of every size can benefit from having one.

Learn what goes into a brand style guide, from logos and colors to fonts and imagery, and why consistent branding builds trust and saves time.

Our Project Manager, Lauren, has been learning the video production ropes alongside Knack Factory for a very special project for one of our clients.

We can’t share too much just yet, but this behind-the-scenes look is only the beginning. Any guesses what we’re working on? 👀
