Before STREAMETRIC, the Zavala County Utility Department ran its entire water system by hand — no SCADA, no remote visibility, and site visits up to three times a day just to check tank levels and manually alternate pumps.

Five STREAM-A units across their wells, booster stations, and a lift station changed that in three days. Real-time tank levels, pump status, and alarms — on any device. The team now saves an estimated 10–12 hours a week.

As Water Well Supervisor Clemente De la Cruz put it, they went from completely blind at their stations to having every site in the palm of their hand.

What happens when you hook a STREAM-M up to a b**r keg? We found out at WEFTEC.

We hooked up a keg to a STREAM-M via a scale, and then we watched the level drop live on the dashboard. Our “SCADA on Tap” event was our way of showing what we actually do without pulling up a slide deck. It was the same hardware that runs on lift stations and wells, just monitoring a far more popular liquid. Every pour showed up in real time, and the trend line told you exactly how the afternoon was going.

🌟 Team Member Spotlight: Evan 🌟

Since joining STREAMETRIC in February 2024, Evan has become a key part of how our platform gets built. As our Development Engineer, Evan works on the product “from the ground all the way up,” touching everything from the backend to the finished experience our customers use every day.

What Evan loves most about the STREAMETRIC team? The people. Evan feels fortunate to work alongside such a large group of awesome teammates, and that sense of support is part of what makes this team special.

Evan’s standout moment goes back to the very beginning: rewriting the backend’s data ingestion as a first real project. Data ingestion is how every reading from the field makes its way into our cloud-SCADA platform, so it’s the foundation everything else is built on. Taking that on so early was a big responsibility, and it set the tone for the ground-up work Evan has been doing ever since. 💻⚙️

Outside of work, Evan is a proud cat parent to Monya, who is “the best cat in the world, no exceptions.” 🐈 Originally from Wilkesboro, a small town near Boone, Evan spends free time reading about math or diving into fantasy books, hitting the gym, and playing the occasional video game.

We’re proud to have Evan on the team and can’t wait to celebrate three years this February! 👏

“Someone stole one of our units.”

Not the 10:00 AM message anyone wants. Our first thought was “People want us so bad.” Honestly, we're a little flattered.

After the security review (and a moment of silence for our missing unit), here’s what we learned:

1. Demand is real. When your product is good enough to steal, you might be onto something. (Please don’t test this theory.)
2. Track your stuff. Tight tracking and site security matter at every scale.
3. Respond fast. Our first call was to our trusted reseller partner to get a replacement unit moving. Everything else is a story for later.

Huge thanks to Michelle Martinez and Brian Rodriguez for keeping everyone in the loop and staying calm while the rest of us were plotting a heist movie.

Your pumps are telling you something. Are you measuring it? 💧

Pump efficiency is one of the most useful (and most overlooked) numbers in a water or wastewater system.

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝗶𝘁?
It's how much of the power you put in actually comes out as useful work:

Total Efficiency = Water Power ÷ Electrical Power

𝗪𝗵𝘆 𝗺𝗲𝗮𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗶𝘁?
🔹 It's an early warning sign of pump issues
🔹 It tells you when inspection or maintenance is due
🔹 It can reveal design problems, like piping or an undersized/oversized pump

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗴𝗼𝗲𝘀 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗰𝘂𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻?
1️⃣ Dynamic pump head: from pressure, level, and geometry (height differences)
2️⃣ Power consumption: from amps, voltage, and run time
3️⃣ Flow: from a flow meter, or an accurate virtual meter
