Yup a different type of carving today. We traded linoleum for pumpkins! Same tools different medium.

Look for these guys on the stoop when you come to the AAF Greater Rochester Jack O'Lantern wood type workshop tomorrow Oct 28th from 5-9!

Thanks to Adam Bierton 🎃 Pumpkin Carver for the inspiration and the great carving tips over on his page. He does amazing things with pumpkins. Don't judge my eyes too harshly mate.

Had a great workshop earlier this week with Steve Matteson RIT Graphic Design Type 3 students where they designed and printed a fancy initial cap letter. Also an impromptu print your own pumpkin workshop too. All great students and a lot of great creativity and variation in their designs. Always fun having college students getting ink on their hands here! Thanks to Steve and RIT for continuing to get students over here for these workshops.

Join us for a night of spooky fun at our soon to be annual Jack O'Lantern printing workshop. Hosted this year by the AAF Greater Rochester as part of their R/AD Month we'll be opening the cases for y'all to design and print your own pumpkins. link for registration in the bio. A little BTS of the tea towels we just printed and dropped off your your purchasing pleasure at p e p p e r m i n t this afternoon.

Yes we printed these babies on a 1940s proof press here at the shop. And this is how we did it. Yup there's more efficient ways to print on fabric but no one's ever accused me of doing things the easy way.

Over the last few weeks we've mixed 6 custom ink colors, and printed 7 beautifully hand carved linoblocks from Joanna Walters for this amazing series of bookmarks.

Lovingly letterpress printed on our 1937 Vandercook Proof Press on Reich Paper Savoy 118 # cotton paper. Trimmed on our 1960s(? Maybe) Challenge Paper Cutter. And Now Available on Jopey Dopes website!
