The contract closes. The project wraps up. But does the vendor’s access end with it?

Vendor offboarding deserves a clear owner, verified access removal, and a record of any approved exceptions.

This Cybersecurity Awareness Month, use this checklist to review what happens when an engagement ends. Can your team confirm what access was removed, what remains, and why?

Save this carousel for your next vendor closeout and share it with the person responsible for access management.

Close the engagement. Confirm the access. Message Paragon Cyber Solutions to start a conversation about your organization’s cyber readiness.

A familiar account. An unfamiliar pattern.

If a vendor account were compromised today, could your team see what it accessed, identify what changed, and know who should respond?

This Cybersecurity Awareness Month, swipe through a hypothetical scenario to explore those questions with your team. Use it to start a conversation about vendor permissions, visibility, and response ownership before an incident occurs.

Put vendor access to the test. Build a clearer picture of your cyber readiness with Paragon Cyber Solutions.

What happens between assessments matters.

As teams, systems, and responsibilities change, cyber readiness takes consistent attention: reviewing access, keeping evidence current, and practicing response roles before they’re needed.

This Cybersecurity Awareness Month, take a closer look at the everyday work that supports readiness. Swipe through for three practices to keep in focus.

Build readiness before your next assessment. Connect with Paragon Cyber Solutions.

Cybersecurity Awareness Month is a reminder that security is built in the decisions we make every day.

It’s taking a moment to verify an unexpected request. Reviewing who has access. Speaking up when something doesn’t look right. And making sure the team knows what to do before an incident happens.

Behind every strong security program are people who practice those habits consistently. Throughout October, we’ll share practical ways to make cybersecurity part of the work you do every day.

What’s one security habit your team has made routine?

A cyber incident does not give your team time to figure out who is in charge.

The first minutes matter. If roles, escalation paths, and decision authority are unclear, a manageable issue can become much harder to contain.
A strong incident response program should answer questions like:

Who declares an incident?

Who leads the response?

Who needs to be notified?

Who has the authority to disconnect systems or shut down operations?

Who communicates with customers, government contacts, or outside responders?

Has the team actually practiced the plan?

Incident response is not just about having a document on file. It is about whether your team can execute that plan under pressure.

Tabletop exercises, clear responsibilities, and tested procedures can help expose gaps before a real incident does.

If a cyber incident started tomorrow, would your team know what to do first?

Paragon Cyber Solutions can help organizations strengthen incident response plans, test readiness, and build a more resilient cybersecurity program.

Your SPRS score is more than a number; it can become part of the contract conversation before an award is ever made.

For federal contractors subject to NIST SP 800-171 requirements, keeping assessment information current and accurate matters. A score that is outdated, unsupported, or disconnected from your actual environment can create compliance, credibility, and contract risk.

The key question isn’t just:
“What’s our score?”
It’s:
“Can we prove it?”

That means maintaining accurate assessments, current documentation, supporting evidence, and a clear plan for unresolved cybersecurity gaps.

And while CMMC Phase II is currently paused, cybersecurity responsibilities have not disappeared. Contractors should continue strengthening their security posture and preparing for future requirements.

Don’t discover an SPRS issue when a bid, option, or assessment is already on the line.
Paragon Cyber Solutions can help you evaluate your current posture, identify gaps, and strengthen your path to compliance and readiness.

Cyber readiness shouldn’t start when a new requirement appears in a solicitation.

For federal contractors, September is a good time to take a closer look at the fundamentals: where CUI lives, whether assessments reflect the current environment, who has access to sensitive systems, how prepared the organization is to respond to an incident, and what requirements may be coming next.

While CMMC Phase II is currently suspended, Phase I self-assessment requirements remain in place. Contractors subject to NIST SP 800-171 requirements should continue maintaining accurate assessments, strengthening their cybersecurity posture, and preparing for future contract requirements.

The goal isn’t simply to check a compliance box. It’s to build a security program that can stand up to changing requirements, customer expectations, and real-world threats.

Use this September Cyber Readiness Checklist to ask the right questions now, before a bid, assessment, or security incident puts your organization to the test.
Ready to identify the gaps in your cybersecurity posture?

Paragon Cyber Solutions can help you understand where you stand and build a stronger path to readiness.
