Monday morning. You're already running behind, and now you're trying to remember every noise your car made last week before you even get to the service counter.

That's the moment most service visits go sideways: not because the service lane is slow, but because everyone's starting from a blank page.

Share what's going on before you pull in, and your advisor already knows what to look for. And if this is one of those mornings where none of it comes back to you, check-in still pulls real data from the vehicle and gets a good look at it during the walk-around, so you're never the only source of information.

A better service visit starts before you arrive.

End of summer, back to normal schedules, and probably a car that could use some attention after a busy few months.

Here's the thing about a good service visit: it doesn't actually start when you pull into the lane. It starts whenever you get a chance to think about what your car needs and pass that along, whether that's from your kitchen table or on your lunch break the day before your appointment.

However it happens, getting there before you're standing at the counter makes the whole visit easier, for you and for your advisor.

Every service advisor knows the difference between a customer who's prepared...
.and one who's trying to remember everything while juggling keys, a phone, and getting back to work.

The easier it is for customers to prepare before they arrive, the easier it is for advisors to get the visit started on the right foot.

Even on the days when nothing comes to mind right away, the check-in itself, scan and inspection both, still pulls real information from the vehicle, so the visit isn't only as good as what anyone remembers to mention.

A smoother check-in sets the tone for everything that follows.

A repair recommendation is a lot easier to understand when customers can actually see what their advisor is talking about.

Photos and videos give context that a quick phone call often can't.

Instead of wondering why a repair is recommended, customers can see the worn brake pads, the leaking hose, or the damaged tire for themselves.

Better understanding leads to better conversations, and more confident decisions.

Your car just put in some serious miles this summer. Road trips, hauling the kids' stuff back and forth, more time on the highway than usual.

If it's been making a new noise or feels a little different since all that driving, mention it before your appointment, even if you can't quite put your finger on what's changed.

The check-in process, scan and walk-around alike, pulls real information straight from the vehicle, so it can flag things a quick description might miss.

A car that just worked hard deserves a service visit that starts with the full picture, not a guessing game at the counter.

August has a way of filling every calendar.

School starts back.
Sports begin.
Vacations end.

Somehow, service appointments have to fit between everything else.
The easier it is for customers to prepare before they arrive, the smoother the visit becomes for everyone involved. Less time spent catching up at the counter means more time focused on what really matters, taking care of the vehicle.

Every service advisor has heard this before: "It only makes the noise sometimes." Or..."The warning light was on yesterday, but now it's gone." Customers aren't trying to be vague. They're just trying to remember details that happened days earlier, standing at a busy counter.

Sharing what you can before you arrive helps. And on the days the details are still fuzzy, that's what check-in is for: eAdvisor pulls real diagnostic data from the vehicle and includes a full walk-around inspection, so your advisor isn't relying on memory alone, yours or theirs.

Busy mornings aren't slowing down. And your service lane feels every minute of it.

As families settle into new routines, the speed of your check-in process shapes the entire customer experience.

A quick, efficient check-in does two things:
Gets customers back on the road faster
Gets them back to their day without the wait

When mornings are packed, that speed isn't a nice-to-have. It's what keeps customers coming back.

What's your team's secret to keeping morning check-ins moving?

08/03/2026

A well-run check-in keeps the whole day on track. Customers can tell when a dealership has its process dialed in.

The summer rush is real. A fast, friction-free check-in keeps customers happy and your team moving.
