The new year brought new laws for Oklahoma businesses. The update to the Security Breach Notification Act is officially in effect.

The state is cracking down on data protection, but they have also provided a clear path to avoid fines. It’s called the "Safe Harbor" defense. To qualify, you must prove you have established "Reasonable Safeguards."
