It’s been a while...let me preface this with a big thank you to the Microsoft scammers for keeping me fed somewhat...ok, on to the heart of the topic...
Microsoft won’t call you unless you start a service request via their website and then choose the option to have your representative call you...period...
If someone calls you and claims they work for Microsoft, you have both my permission and my respect if you kindly tell them to...and I quote...”go f**k yourself with a sandpaper covered broom handle”
If you get a pop up on your computer claiming you have the “Zeus virus” or whatever other one it claims you have and tells you to call a phone number and you call it...then I’ll gladly be the 3rd number you call (after you call your bank/credit card company to dispute the charges) and I will gladly charge you to fix it.
If, however, you actually read this 7am and I’ve been up all night with a headache rant, then I will a: tell you how to kill the pop up and b: expect you to share this with people
Now, if you have made it this far, here is your reward...
On Windows Vista, 7, 8, 8.1, and 10, press ctrl+shift+esc then highlight your browser (chrome.exe/Firefox.exe/iexplore.exe, except Windows 8/10 which will just show the name of the browser) and hit end task, when you reopen your browser DO NOT RESTORE THE PAGES
On Windows XP...shame on you for still being on XP, it’s not a classic car that gets better with age, it’s a 17 year old dog that is better off being put down, but I know you won’t listen so you need to hit ctrl+alt+del and then highlight and end task just like the other versions of Windows.
Anyway, thanks for reading my rant, hopefully it leaves you knowing a bit more than before you started. Like and share the living s**t out of this.
