Alan Clarke, retired Assistant Commissioner of NSW Police, has been a firm believer in the work of what we do here at Locatrix.

We are indebted to his knowledge, experience and guidance that has helped us shape the development of our Emergency Services Platform (ESP).

ESP exists because first responders shouldn’t have to navigate the unknown. And this is why ESP is a free resource available to Australia’s emergency services.

Reliable information in the right hands when it matters most. We cannot put a price on the lives who help save ours.

“Before, we were sitting at around 30-40% completion. Now we’re at about 86%, so we’ve more than doubled our compliance.” ~ Tony Dagan, Manager, Fire Safety Advisory & Assurance Unit, Children's Health Queensland.

Training completion rates increased from 30–40% to approximately 86%, with a clear path towards the hospital’s goal of +90%. Training time reduced by 83% per staff member – from 90 minutes in person to just 20-30 minutes anywhere – making it significantly easier to complete without disrupting clinical work.

Here’s the scenario.

You look after multiple sites. No two sites are the same. Some may even share Assembly Areas and some staff may work from multiple spots in different buildings.

Problematic for safety training.

That’s before you even consider how often you need to update an evacuation diagram, document any changes and notify staff when there are updates to a site.

That sounds like a real challenge.

But with the right tech it needn’t be. Let our software help you create calm from the chaos.

Managing emergency preparedness in a healthcare or hospital setting is genuinely complex. You are coordinating shift workers across the clock, patients with high-dependency needs, and critical systems that cannot fail.

The variables are real: ensuring every staff member across every shift has current training, knowing exactly how to safely relocate patients during a power outage, and maintaining accurate records that prove your readiness at any moment.

Find out how Tony Dagan at Children's Health Queensland manages training for 3000+ staff, volunteers and contractors, fire safety, and compliance across multiple sites, without dropping the ball. Case study, link in comments.

As a Gold Sponsor for the Firefighters Cancer Foundation Australia (FCFA), Team Locatrix was there, alongside professional and volunteer firefighters in full kit, to show those 41 flights of stairs at the Rhapsody Resort who’s boss.

And we all made it to the top, legs pumped and lungs burning. Locatrix even won the accolade of “Fastest Corporate Team”. Well done Josh Littler, Hamish Thomson and George Dominic, this is a title to defend into 2027.

Not forgetting our other super stars Scott Jackson (and family), Georgia Hughes and Rhys Collyer for getting up early and participating. Plus Katie Moore with Oscar the doggo cheering them all on. Pssst Rhys, the marketing team is considering the branded knee brace merch for next year...

The day concluded with a formal ball and dinner event in the evening that Scott, Katie and Josh attended with their partners. Jackson, Locatrix CEO, was there on behalf of the company to receive a certificate of appreciation from FCFA’s Steve Bunney and Bruce Beasley.

It is worth noting this year's event raised a record-breaking amount of money via donations and sponsorship, all to support the lives of firefighters and their families affected by a cancer diagnosis.

What a privilege it is to show appreciation and care for those who have chosen a path that helps protect us all as a community. Congrats to the FCFA team for organising such a fantastic event in honour of Australia’s firefighters.

Where will you be watching the sun rise early on Saturday 22nd August 2026?

If you happen to be at the Rhapsody Resort on the Gold Coast, then you will most likely run into participants of the Firefighters Cancer Foundation Australia (FCFA) annual stair climb event.

There’ll even be a gaggle of Locatrixians out in the wild who have challenged themselves to complete the 41-flight-of-stairs-event.

That’s a lot of lactic acid.

Good luck Scott & family, Georgia, Josh, George, Rhys and Hamish.

But it’s all for a good cause because a little bit of discomfort climbing stairs is minimal to what a firefighter puts their body through every time they put on their uniform. Each emergency they respond to puts physical and mental stresses upon their bodies and this can manifest itself, all too commonly, in cancer.

FCFA was created as a charity to support firefighters and their families while they navigate the world of a cancer diagnosis. This kindness is a defining characteristic of the firefighter community and one that Locatrix has been lucky to have been a part of. We can say that we are proud to be a part of this event as a Gold Sponsor.

As a SaaS company, we have developed software for Australian First Responders to be able to access important building information before they arrive on the scene of an emergency. So, sending some of our finest and their families to complete the stair challenge seems like a fitting tribute to those who have given their all in emergency preparedness.
