The Ring DAC is the foundation of every dCS product, chosen for its exceptional distortion and noise performance.
Reduced harmonic distortion across the dynamic range means quiet passages of music or dialogue are rendered with complete integrity.
It also means that louder sounds decay naturally: reverb tails, the dying resonance of a struck chord, the gradual fade of a room — all resolve cleanly, giving a greater sense of space and depth across the full dynamic range, not just at its quietest extremes.
A discrete Class A output stage per channel, with switchable 2V or 6V outputs, ensures the signal leaves the MCD 16 on its own terms, whatever amplifier or cable it meets.
