Automated scans are a great starting point to detecting basic accessibility errors, but they don't give the whole picture.
Most automated tools only detect around 25% of accessibility issues, leaving the majority of barriers undiscovered without performing manual assessments.
Things like:
Screen reader usability
Keyboard navigation
Meaningful alt text
The overall user experience
All require human evaluation. Automated scans find some issues - manual testing finds what matters to users.
