As part of our Artist-in-Residence programme, artist Magda Karol will be creating a mural on one of our windows on Wednesday 26th August.

Hatch Lab residents will be invited to help paint a section of the mural on the day, gloves and aprons provided, no artistic experience required (we promise).

We'll be gathering design ideas from our hatch labbers over the next week, we're very excited about this new stage in the project.

Have a look at Magda's beautiful work here πŸ‘‰ https://www.instagram.com/magdalenakarol/

There's a particular kind of good news that only happens in a shared space.

Innovate have just welcomed QedON as a new customer, and marked the occasion with a delivery of branded cupcakes to the team (Beti Paige Cupcakes)

Both are The Hatch Lab Lab residents. Both are building their businesses here in Gorey.

This collaboration is the part that's hard to put in a brochure, It's not something you can schedule into a calendar, but it's exactly why we do what we do.

Congratulations to both teams

(We're reliably informed the cupcakes were excellent Beti Paige Cupcakes)

Since The Hatch Lab opened, we've filmed a lot of the people who've passed through it.
Founders at the very start of something.
Businesses figuring out what they were.
Interviews sitting on hard drives and scattered across old posts.

So we've gone and done it, we've put it all in one place.
The Hatch Lab is now on YouTube with a brand new channel (link in the first comment)

Make sure that you subscribe and have a look at older videos from the past and keep an eye out for new additions.

Great to host Screen Wexford for their networking morning last month.

We love hosting this group because they bring a completely different energy; writers, producers, directors and crew.

And especially with our Artist in Residence programme now in place, we're beginning to see the impact of putting creative people and enterprise people in the same building.

Conversations happen that wouldn't happen anywhere else.
The screen industry in the South East is growing, and it needs somewhere to gather.
Delighted that somewhere is Gorey.

Throwback to this time last month!
Our annual BBQ at The Hatch Lab, and honestly, we're still thinking about it.

The sun showed up, the activities were brilliant, and the atmosphere was everything we love about this place , people spilling out of the building after hours, chatting over food and drinks.

The best bit about the whole thing is...no, not the burgers (though the burgers were good).
It's the reminder that The Hatch Lab is a community.

To everyone who came along, brought the energy, and stayed for one more chat, a massive thank you. We're so grateful for you.
Can we do it again? Please?

Eoin O Connor Artist has been part of the Hatch Lab through our Artist in Residence programme, and having his work on our walls has had a incredible impact on the feel of the space.

It's a reminder that creativity, art and enterprise belong in the same room, the discipline, the iteration, the willingness to start over on something that isn't working yet.

Our members have taken a lot from watching that up close.

Now Eoin is opening the doors of his own gallery, and he's been kind enough to extend the invitation to the wider Hatch Lab community.

Eoin O Connor Gallery, 4 Esmonde St, Gorey
Saturday 1st August, from 2pm

Call in, meet Eoin, and see the work in person.

If you're in Gorey this Saturday, it's well worth the detour

Last week, one of our own celebrated a big milestone, QedON turned 5!

What began as an idea between Susan Madden and Dylan Smith has grown into an international EdTech company, now working with organisations across Ireland, South Africa, Australia, Ghana and beyond to make learning more engaging, accessible and impactful.

We've had a front row seat to this journey here at The Hatch Lab, and it's been brilliant to watch the QedON team build something with genuine global reach from right here in Gorey

Head over to their page and join us in wishing Susan, Dylan and the whole QedON family a very happy 5th birthday, and here's to the next chapter!

We were delighted to welcome Malcolm Byrne TD and McEvoy, IDA Ireland's new Regional Manager for the South East, alongside representatives from County Wexford Chamber Chamber, Wexford County Council, and CSC today to The Hatch Lab

The question on the table:

➒How does County Wexford win more foreign direct investment?

The good news is that we're starting from strength.
Gorey sits on Dublin's doorstep, the talent is here, and the quality of life sells itself. Ready to go property, available talent, and room to grow, that's what gets deals done.
This is what The Hatch Lab is here for, connecting the people driving enterprise in the South East, and keeping Wexford front of mind for companies ready to establish, grow and scale.

As part of our Artist in Residence programme, we're delighted to host an exhibition of work by artists Jackie Mitchell Art and Eoin O Connor Artist right here in The Hatch Lab.

The art has completely transformed our working environment. Corridors and workspaces have become gallery walls, and there's a new energy in the building because of it.

And this isn't just art to admire in passing. We'll be inviting responses to the work from our resident businesses over the coming weeks, because creativity and enterprise have always had plenty to say to each other

The exhibition runs until the end of August, so there's plenty of time to experience it.

A huge thank you to Wexford County Council, County Wexford Arts Office and the CreativeIrl Programme for funding the Artist in Residence programme and helping us bring creativity into the heart of where we work.
