What do people REALLY want at "business events"? What most hosts do not know is that we just do not want to be trapped in a room yelling over loud music while trying to read a badge in the dark.
Research found that 52% of respondents valued networking meet-ups with professionals facing similar challenges, and 44% valued topic-specific meet-ups. Only 8% selected speed meet-ups.
The fact is that most of us want one thing: human connection.
The EIC/Oxford Economics study found that 70% of industry respondents identified relationship-building through face-to-face interaction as the event outcome most difficult to replicate. A further 12% pointed to community, trust and emotional engagement.
That is the real product, ✨ emotions. The room is where it happens, not what people came to admire.
The chemistry comes from the people and the conditions you create for them to engage: the right guest mix, shared context, proper hosting, staff who understand the tone and moments that feel lived rather than staged.
