Over the course of the last year, two of our Vendilli video experts, Rob Donaldson and Pat Somers, were feeling forever young.
They had the opportunity to work on a documentary, the vision of local filmmaker and director, Len Caric, celebrating a one-night-only Dylan tribute show at Lawrenceville's Thunderbird Café & Music Hall.
Forever Young: A Bob Dylan Tribute captures Pittsburgh music legends, Billy Price and Joe Grushecky, as they came together for that incredible show.
The Vendilli team, along with Kory Pitkavish, Director of Photography; and Len and Judy Caric; shot the live performance with a 4-camera setup, held individual interviews with the talent at the Thunderbird, and captured rehearsal footage and interviews at the Church Recording Studio in the South Hills. All of that was compiled into a cohesive film, which premiered to a sold-out crowd on August 30th at the Lindsay Theatre and Cultural Center in Sewickley, PA.
The showing was preceded by a live performance by Billy Price and Joe Grushecky and was followed by a director Q&A that gave the audience a deeper look into how it all came together. The event was part of The Lindsay’s latest Emerging Filmmakers Showcase, giving local filmmakers the opportunity to share their work on the big screen at no cost to them or the guests. The film runs through the end of September. Link in comments with dates, times and information.
Vendilli was proud to contribute to this project and we are grateful to the entire team for their trust in helping bring this remarkable show, and Bob Dylan's legacy, to life.
