Stop opening your website with your company name.
I know. That sounds wrong.

Your customer didn't come to read about you. They came because something in their life is broken and they want it fixed.
If you lead with your name and your founding date, you've already lost them. They didn't bounce because your business is bad. They bounced because the first sentence wasn't about them.

The fix is small. The result is huge!

Make the first paragraph about the customer's problem, in their words. Then introduce yourself as the guide who can fix it.

A roofer's homepage should not start with "Smith Roofing has served West Michigan since 1998."
It should start with "Your roof is leaking and you're not sure who to trust."

One sounds like a brochure. The other sounds like a conversation.

Which one would you rather walk into?

If your homepage opens with your founding date, we'll help you rewrite the first paragraph.

Most have one.
A single homepage written for an imaginary visitor who's a mix of every person who might land there.

Customer, partner, donor, job applicant, all greeted with the same headline.

It feels efficient. It quietly loses people.
Here's the framework that fixes it.
One website. Three doors.

The homepage still answers the universal question every visitor brings: what do you do, and who do you do it for? That part stays at the top.

Right under it, you offer three clear paths. Each path is tuned for one specific audience.

For a service business, it might be:
"I'm a new customer."

"I'm an existing customer."

"I'm a partner or referral source."

For a nonprofit, it might be:
"I'm looking for help."

"I want to give."

"I want to serve."
The brand voice stays the same. The colors stay the same. What changes is the first story each visitor hears.
A donor sees impact first. A volunteer sees belonging first. A customer sees outcome first.

When the door matches the visitor, conversion stops feeling like a battle. It starts feeling like a welcome.

If your homepage is greeting everyone the same way, we'll help you sketch the right doors.

Most business owners don't know that only 2 to 6% of your followers actually see your posts.

That's the average across most platforms right now.

So if you have 500 followers, maybe 15 of them see what you posted today. And that's on a good day.

For years, the answer to that problem has been: post more. Show up everywhere. Stay on top of the algorithm.
It's not working anymore.

The internet has too much content. AI made it easy to make more. Now every feed feels the same. Every caption sounds like the last one. People scroll right past, even when the post is good.

So what does still get through?
Real stories.

Those posts stop the scroll. People save them. They share them. They remember them.

Check out our blog "Storytelling in Marketing". Learn why storytelling still works. And how to do it without sounding fake.

If your content feels invisible, we'll help you find the one real story that turns the volume back up.

When a customer lands on your website, they form an opinion before they read a single word.

The photos do that work.

If your photos are blurry, stock, or three years out of date, the opinion is already formed. They scroll. They leave. You never know they were there.

Show, don't tell. A photo says what a paragraph can't.

The best part? One shoot gets you endless uses. One afternoon fuels your website, social, email, and ads for months.

If you've been "meaning to update the photos" for the last 12 months, this is your sign.

Professional photography helps businesses build trust, strengthen their brand, and create content that works across every marketing channel.

It will be read by AI.

When someone searches "best roofer near me" today, ChatGPT or Google AI doesn't show them a list of links. It writes them an answer. That answer pulls from whichever websites it can read and trust.

If your website was written for a person scrolling on their phone, it might still rank. If it was written to be lifted into an AI summary, it definitely will.

Those are two very different writing jobs.
A person scrolling wants a clear headline, a photo, and a fast next step.
An AI parsing wants clear questions, plain answers, and structure it can quote.

The good news: doing both isn't as hard as it sounds. The same plain English that helps a customer also helps AI lift your content. The trick is to write the answers your customer is already asking, in the words they're already using.
For example:

"How much does a new roof cost in Grand Rapids?"

"How long does roof installation take?"

"Do you offer financing?"

Then answer each one in one or two clear paragraphs. Not buried on page 4. Right on the page that matches the question.
That's it. That's the whole shift.

The brands that rewrite their site this way in the next 18 months will start showing up in the AI answer. The ones that don't will quietly disappear from search.

If you're not sure how AI is reading your site right now, that's a conversation worth having.

to a great day with friends and business partners!

Tip 1 — Context beats prompts
The prompt isn't the problem. The CONTEXT is the unlock.

Most people blame their prompts when AI gives bad output, but the real issue is that AI has zero context about your business. Give it your brand voice, your audience, your specifics — and the results change dramatically. The better you know what you want, the better AI performs.

Tip 2 — You don't need to master everything
You think you need to master all 10 tools. You don't.

AI overwhelm is real, but trying to learn every tool is the wrong goal. The future isn't humans replaced by AI — it's humans doing what only humans can do, supported by the right tools. Pick one and go deep.

Google "your service + your city" right now. If you're not in the top 3 results, someone else is taking every call that should have been yours.

Here's what the businesses showing up at the top have that most small businesses don't:

→ A fully optimized Google Business Profile with real photos and weekly updates
→ Consistent reviews coming in every month — not 47 reviews from 2019
→ Service pages targeting the specific words customers actually search
→ Location pages for every city or neighborhood they serve
→ A website that loads fast and works on a phone

None of this is secret. It's just ex*****on. And most of your competitors aren't doing all of it.

That gap is your opportunity — but only if you move before they do.
