The Kutztown Borough Council is seeking a resident of the first ward interested in being considered for an immediate appointment to the Kutztown Borough Council to serve through December 31, 2027. If the appointed person wishes to complete the final two years of this Council term, they would be required to run in the 2027 election. To be eligible for appointment, an applicant must be a registered voter residing in the first ward (North of Main Street) and have resided in the Borough of Kutztown for at least one year prior to September 15, 2026. Interested parties are encouraged to apply by submitting an application to the Borough before 4:00 PM on Tuesday, September 15, 2026. Applicant interviews will be conducted in public at the Kutztown Borough Council meeting on September 15, 2026, which begins at 7:30 PM at the Kutztown Borough Train Station building. Kutztown Borough Council is expected to appoint a new Council member at the Borough Council meeting on Tuesday, September 15, 2026.
Appointment to the Borough Council is a unique opportunity for individuals to serve their community and be involved with the critical issues of Borough operations including utility operations, land development, budgeting, community and economic development.
