, the two finally decided to meet for an hour over a cup of coffee. What was supposed to be one hour turned into an afternoon. What they discovered was both independently wanted the same thing out of a business and life – being intentional and purposeful, and making a business that was about relationships and partnership as much as it was about technology. Nick and James decided to start from scratch with a true 50/50 partnership. A lot of time was spent going through the necessary steps needed to start a new company, and the last piece needed to get started was a brand name. They spent several hours at an old sandwich shop at 70th and Van Dorn trying to come up with a name, a brand, a simple representation of what they were building together. James would later say that they “failed miserably” trying to define themselves that day. Nothing felt right (Not to mention they couldn’t find a name with a good domain name available). Late that night, away from the noise of the sandwich shop, they “had it.” Five Nines. 99.999% Uptime.
