It took five people to pull together one student's records.

The school had everything. Behavior notes, intervention plans, meeting notes. It was just spread across a shared drive, a handful of docs and a few inboxes, so five staff members spent their days hunting instead of helping kids.

If you're the one keeping behavior notes at your school, this part is for you: those notes are generally part of the student's education record. When a parent or attorney asks for the file, your notes are in it.

We made a 2-minute check that shows how ready your school would be if that request came in this week. Take it, then pass it to whoever would get that call. đź’ˇ

"End-of-October tired" is its own kind of tired.

The novelty's gone, the break is still weeks away, and the kids know the routines well enough to test every single one.

If you kept up with anything this month, count it. Even one kid, three days a week. đź’›

Here's what walking into a parent-teacher conference with a record looks like, instead of a memory and a feeling.

The trend, the notes, and what you've tried, all in one place, ready to print or pull up on screen.

Parent-Teacher Conference tip: bring three dates.

Skip "he's been struggling lately." Try "On the 2nd, the 9th and the 14th, afternoons were really hard. Here's what we tried, and here's what's starting to help."

Specifics turn a hard conversation into a shared plan. Parents can hear "here's what we're seeing" much more easily than "here's how it feels." đź’ˇ

A shared, school-wide approach to student support: consistent behavior tracking, documentation your school can stand behind, and a gentle move beyond paper.

The first quarter is almost done, which means somebody's about to ask, "Is this student's intervention working?"

Here's a quick way to answer honestly. Skip yesterday. Look at the last four weeks side by side:

1. Are the rough days less frequent?
2. Are rough days shorter?
3. Are they bouncing back faster?

Any one of those is progress, even if Tuesday was awful. đź’ˇ

If you're the person who types up the meeting notes afterward, this one's for you.

This is the SAT Meeting feature in Cub Guide. Notes go in during the meeting, every student you talk about gets tagged, and every "someone should..." goes into the same spot for you to come back to it when you need it.

No retyping. No "wait, which doc did I write that down in?" đź’ˇ

Month one is done. You survived it.

If you started logging back in week one, you can pull up any of your kids right now and see the whole month at once, an actual shape with a direction to it.

Which beats spending October arguing about whether things feel better. đź’›

Which version of this is the real one?

The doc the counselor updated Tuesday. The spreadsheet the para keeps on her phone. The notes in the SIS. The email thread where three people corrected each other and nobody said which correction stuck.

Then a parent asks what you've been doing for their kid, and you're reconciling four sources before you can open your mouth. One record, one place, everybody looking at the same thing.
