The GuidePoint Research and Intelligence Team (GRIT) is tracking a malware campaign that has compromised websites belonging to at least 31 organizations.

The campaign uses a familiar ClickFix tactic, luring users with a fake CAPTCHA that instructs them to run a malicious command. The twist? It leverages the Polygon blockchain to update its command-and-control infrastructure, making disruption more difficult.

Ransomware affiliates may be finding new ways to profit from the same attacks they helped carry out.

The GuidePoint Research and Intelligence Team (GRIT) recently uncovered activity tied to "Ransom Busters," a suspected ransomware affiliate posing as a recovery service. Forensic links across multiple incidents suggest the same affiliate is working across several ransomware groups — and diverting payments meant for its own criminal partners.
