Same space. New possibilities. 💙
From beige to BRIGHT!

A little transformation in action!

Over three years ago, we were invited to reimagine a gallery space for what was supposed to be a temporary LEGO exhibition at the National Building Museum.

Originally planned to run for no more than 24 months, Brick City continued engaging and delighting visitors through its closing just last week!

And here’s what we love most about this project…

Rather than starting from scratch, we repurposed existing exhibition structures and materials, making the most of the Museum’s resources while creating an entirely new visitor experience.

We also designed interactive activities, including a custom map of DC where visitors of all ages could build their own creations alongside Warren Elsmore’s incredible LEGO replicas of iconic buildings from around the world.

Less waste. More imagination. More opportunities to connect.

That’s what we love about designing experiences. It’s not just about transforming spaces. It’s about transforming what’s possible within them.

As Brick City makes way for its next chapter, we’re looking back at some of the creative thinking that brought this experience to life. Stay tuned for more from our original design process!
