Case in point: I could have refilmed this tomorrow so the light wasn't reflecting in my glasses.

Does it annoy me? Yes.

But will I deliver this message with the same enthusiasm 12hrs later? Will I even bother refilming it? Or will I go another month without posting 🫣

You don't need to bare your soul to me here. But if you get real with yourself about why you keep holding yourself back, you'll see a whole lot more growth.

And not just the business kind.

There's a version of you 1 year, 3 years, or maybe even 20 years down the line who'll look back and thank you one day for getting curious and doing the personal work today.

It’s easy to assume performance issues sit on the page.

But more often, they sit in the gaps.

The gap between intention and click.

The gap between “I’m interested” and “I’m ready.”

Fix that, and everything changes, without touching the offer.

I didn’t grow up thinking the world was all sunshine and rainbows. I saw enough early on to know there is darkness beyond what I can fathom.

It’s why I’ve always gone looking for understanding - studying sociology, teaching history, travelling to witness the parts of the world most people would rather not look at.

Not because I’m drawn to darkness, but because I’ve always believed that if we understand it, we have a better chance of changing it.

And I do believe that. I believe in people. I believe in growth. I believe things can be different, even when the ending isn’t clear yet.

That belief has always shaped my work - in the classroom and now with small business owners.

But lately, the noise has been loud. And I’m not interested in pretending otherwise.

I'm still here. Still doing the work. Still loving my business and client work. In my personal life, everything is great.

But while I'm a little quieter and a little less publically visible, I'm every bit as hands on in my day-to-day.

This is what’s happening in your brand all the time, whether you’ve designed for it or not.

People aren’t just reading your words. They’re experiencing your business through your copy, colours, fonts, spacing, visual clues, messaging, personality and more.

Those signals work together or against each other to shape how your business is understood.

When something feels “off” or inconsistent, it’s rarely just one thing.

It’s usually a disconnect between what you’re saying, how you’re saying it, how it’s being presented and why you’re saying it at all.

Strategic new offers that opened clients up to bigger opportunities.

Strategic designs to build on top of the solid foundations we've already set.

A website in a week worked here, but only because of a few key things.

Grant already had photos ready to go (and could quickly take a few more with direction).

He trusted me to do my thing.

He made time for quick feedback calls so nothing stalled.

He understood this wasn’t the final website.

It was a smart, short-term fix as part of a longer-term plan.

Chatting with my bestie this week, she filled her partner in on something we were discussing.

6 minutes of his time. A whole new world of possibility unlocked 🤯

I didn't know, what I didn't know.

But in minutes, he saw the bigger picture and gave me a possibility I didn't know existed.

Thousands of dollars. Hundreds of hours.

Who knows what you're saving? Not you, when you jump the gun before speaking with an expert 💁‍♀️

The flip side of this is YOU in your business. You're doing the same thing for your people every day.
