Seeing those numbers? Really freaking cool! But they didn’t happen by accident.

That’s all happened since I published their website.

But I want to be PERFECTLY clear.

Those changes happened because of my work here:
New website
New system improving conversions
Strategic ads
Socials

AND my client’s work here:
Staffing changes
Referrals
Work quality
Word of mouth
1:1 interactions
All the work they did before ever hiring me
And so much more...

It would be a contradiction if I sat here claiming your success as my own when I’m fully aware there are hundreds of factors going on beneath the surface.

I don’t pull a lot of numbers into my marketing, but you can bet I’m using them every day to inform the decisions I make while working on your business.

ALL OF THIS TO SAY:
Change doesn’t happen by accident.
Your website’s not just a website.
Pretty is fine, but purposeful is better.

And on the work front?

Planned, wrote and set-up an email flow for a digital product.

Published a website for a client who had just paid to have it done elsewhere. What they made for her was beautiful, but it wasn’t showing up online, wasn’t converting, and it was broken in many places 😭 Honestly, devastating.

Refining a digital product of my own.

Regular work: socials clients, listing descriptions, Meta and Google ads.

Troubleshooting best ways to technically action future marketing plans with the tools at our disposal.

And no doubt, a whole heap of other things I sweep under the rug without realising, they’re not little at all...

When I’m stepping in to help like this, it looks like a lot of reassurance, to start with.

Because you’re likely beating yourself up about what’s happened.

It looks like helping you understand what has happened, so that when I tell you what needs to happen to fix it, you can see what I’m saying - even if you don’t fully understand every moving part.

It looks like major fixes taken care of ASAP.

It looks like other things sorted out over a few months.

It always includes evidence that the work’s been done.

Sure, it’ll take a minute to get used to driving it. But it should be smooth sailing - aside from the occasional “Hey I know you showed me, but how do I do this again?”

Whether you DIY’d your first website or you’ve outgrown what someone else made you, the second website matters more.

Or third. Fourth. Whatever number we’re up to...

The website that comes next requires much more technical skill than the first.

It also requires more business expertise, to figure out the right solutions for your business - not mine.

Your new website isn’t a guessing game and you shouldn’t be left wondering if things were handled properly.

Remember when you were willing to risk computer herpes for a song downloaded from Limewire?

My collection of So Fresh CDs would tell you I was too scared to try. Heck, I don’t even choose “field tomatoes” when I’ve got Truss in my trolley.

But beyond the theft, environmental, health and ethical concerns of AI (burning the books was never a bad sign 😬), there are a whole pile of legal issues you leave yourself open to when you blindly let AI take the lead.

When you’ve poured your blood, sweat and tears into building an income for yourself through your business, THAT is not a risk worth taking.

Keep your brain cells peeps.

It started as a happy accident, but now I plan it deliberately.

Are my goals on the 1st day back still completely unrealistic? Probably 😂

But have I prioritised an activity that takes care of ME before I launch myself back into things? Absolutely.

It doesn’t have to be a paid thing...self care could look like a candle-lit bath with your favourite book, a tech-free bushwalk, time to enjoy your creative outlet.

For me, today, it was a pedi. Sparkly purple for those who were wondering...

I know it’s a HORRIBLE thought - there’s SO much to get through between now and then. But check the date your kids go back to school next year and BLOCK it in your calendar now.

You can decide how you’ll spend it later. But if you don’t block it, you and I both know you’ll forget it and cram the impossible into the 1hr between 9am and 3pm in January...
