I'd rather have 100 website visitors a month and a full calendar.

vs 100k visitors and not a single booking.

Impressions and ranking used to matter a lot.

But now AI answers the question before anyone clicks.
Bots scroll. Spam fills the forms.

The number goes up while the calendar stays empty.

So I stopped caring about impressions.

Here's what I ask instead:

→ Did someone call?
→ Did someone request directions?
→ Did someone book a session?
→ Where did they come from?

For therapy practices, SEO was never about being seen.

It's about being found by the one person who was ready to book this week.

Your calendar is the report.

If your therapy practice doesn't currently have a full caseload, check these 3 things first before spending another penny on ads.

1. Can people actually find you on Google Search/Maps?

Go into incognito mode and try searching for your services in your area, like "ADHD therapy in Vancouver"

Does your practice show up for it? Or are you seeing other practices?

2. Is your website making things easy?

Within a few seconds can someone quickly see what you offer, where you're located, who you help and how to book?

People don't read, they skim for answers. Don't make them search your entire website (because they won't!) just to figure out how to work with you.

3. Are you relying primarily on referrals?

Listen, referrals are AWESOME! But if that's where most of your clients currently come from, you are missing out on people who are already searching for your services on Google.

It's possible to have YEARS of experience and a great reputation, but still be hard to find through Google Search/Maps.

Improving your homepage + Google Business Profile is usually the best place to start!

If you aren't looking at your Google Search Console and Google Analytics at least once a month, you have no idea if your marketing efforts are working.

Even if you run an online only therapy practice. It should be obvious where you're located.

81,700 Google impressions sounds pretty awesome.

Until you look a what Google is actually show you for...

My client is a leadership coach.

Yet one of her biggest searches was:

"thriving" -> 3,900 impressions

yet "leadership coaching vancouver island" -> 7 impressions

dang.

The good news is she's getting found on Google, but Google doesn't quite understand what she wants to be found FOR.

So we're gonna change the strategy, more focus on getting her found by the people actually searching for the services she wants to sell (leadership coaching)

We have 60 days, and I'm documenting what happens.

Better traffic > more traffic. every.single.time.
